Coquille knows how to keep a tradition alive.

The Coquille Fire & Rescue Volunteer Firefighters Association celebrated its 40th Annual Steak Feed & Car Show at Sturdivant Park, bringing our community together for an afternoon of great food, live music, a silent auction, and an incredible display of more than 200 classic cars.

But behind the fun is something that matters even more. Every steak served and every person who showed up helped support the training, safety gear, and equipment our local volunteer firefighters need to serve this community.

Forty years doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because generations of volunteers and community members keep showing up🚒❤️

One of my favorite parts of fair week has been meeting so many incredible members of our community🤍 This year, it was an honor to represent Coos County, and getting to hear your stories, share conversations, and celebrate this tradition alongside all of you made the experience even more meaningful.
Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, and to those that I don’t have copies of pictures, thank you for making this week so special. I’m grateful for the conversations, smiling faces, and the opportunity to represent this amazing community. See you next year at the fair! 🎡🌻💙

Where is Miss Coos County’s favorite spot during the fair? 🤍
The horse barn. 🐴
I’ve been coming to the Coos County Fair since I was just one year old, so this fair has always held a special place in my heart. Before I even had horses of my own, I would drag my family to the horse barn every single year to pet the horses (whether they wanted to or not!) I could spend hours there, and honestly... not much has changed. You will still find me hanging around the horses.
Growing up, I even competed in barrel racing at the Coos County Rodeo, and those experiences taught me so much about dedication, resilience, and community. The horse barn has always felt like home.
One of my favorite traditions is seeing all the families stop to take the adorable Western-style photos at the horse barn photo ops. Every year I’m amazed by the theming, and it’s so fun watching families make memories they’ll look back on for years to come.
Getting to experience this year’s fair as Miss Coos County makes it even more meaningful. It’s an honor to represent the community that has shaped so many of my favorite childhood memories.
If you’re looking for me at the fair, there’s a good chance you’ll find me in the horse barn. 🤎🐎✨
