From Myrtle Beach to Chicago, the brotherhood stands strong. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸš”

Several members of the Myrtle Beach Police Department traveled to Chicago to attend the funeral services for fallen Chicago Police Officer John Bartholomew and stand alongside our brothers and sisters in blue during a time of unimaginable loss.

While there, officers also stopped by Wrigley Field β€” home of the Chicago Cubs and a meaningful connection to our own Myrtle Beach Pelicans organization.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Brotherhood for the Fallen South Carolina for their continued support of law enforcement officers and families during difficult times.

Please continue to keep Officer Bartholomew’s family, friends, and the Chicago Police Department in your thoughts and prayers. πŸ’™

Congratulations to Detective Corporal Chris Holmes πŸ’™πŸ–€

As we honor the last of our three fallen heroes during National Police Week 2026, today we remember Officer Jacob Hancher of the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

On October 3, 2020, Officer Hancher was tragically shot and killed while responding to a domestic incident at an apartment on 14th Avenue South. He served with the Myrtle Beach Police Department with pride, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose. Officer Hancher was known for his commitment to helping others, both as a police officer and previously as a community service officer. He was just 23 years old. He is survived by his mother, father, stepmother, brother, three sisters, and grandparents.

His selfless service and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten. We honor his memory today and always.

His service, sacrifice, and commitment to the safety of our community will never be forgotten.

As we continue to honor our fallen heroes during National Police Week 2026, today we remember Officer Henry Scarborough.

On his very first day with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, Officer Scarborough was tragically killed in the line of duty while transporting a suspect.

A U.S. Army veteran, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his legacy of courage and service lives on.
