☀️ Summer Heat Can Be Ruff on Our Goldens 🐾

As temps rise across the Low Country, even a quick walk can become dangerous for our furry friends. Goldens are especially prone to overheating, so a little extra care goes a long way.

💛 Keep Your Pup Safe This Summer:
• Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
• Bring plenty of fresh water
• Check pavement with your hand — if it’s hot for you, it’s hot for paws
• Take shade breaks often
• Watch for signs of overheating: heavy panting, drooling, wobbling, or slowing down

We’re so excited to share this lovely magazine feature on longtime GGRLC fosters, adopters and generous supporters, Joyce & Lowell Mallard — and their gorgeous GGRLC alum Bella!

The Mallards have opened their hearts to several of our Goldens over the years, including Sugar, Kiera, and now sweet Bella, adopted in July 2025. Their home has been a place of love, healing, and happy tails for so many.

💛✨ Levi is Living His Very Best Golden Life! ✨💛

Our sweet January alum Levi has settled into his forever home, and let’s just say… he understood the assignment. This handsome boy is soaking up every cuddle, every sunny nap spot, and every bit of love his new family gives him.

From neighborhood strolls to couch‑snuggle marathons, Levi has fully embraced the Golden Life — tail wags, soft sighs, and all. His family says he’s the perfect mix of gentle, goofy, and grateful… and we believe it.

Seeing him so happy fills our hearts right up. Shine on, Levi — your forever family is clearly just as lucky as you are. 🐾💛

Duke never ceases to amaze us! 🌟🐕

These beautiful photos were shared by Duke’s devoted foster dad, Glenn — and Duke’s love truly knows no bounds.

Here’s what Glenn wrote about this touching moment:

"I couldn’t let this go without sharing. Duke is our forever foster. He is totally blind. Cody (English Cream) is our last foster, whom we are babysitting this week as his forever family is away on spring break. Cody has seizures, and this morning he had one. It apparently really wipes him out. (Meds too). He is also dealing with some skin issues, hence the cone. Well, Duke knows Cody has had a rough day. And this just happened. (Pics in sequence).

Dogs are truly amazing!!! I am teary eyed as I type this! Such beauty!" ❤
