From Bake Sales to Baker 💛🐾🎂

Sometimes the sweetest stories come full circle.

Years ago, Ellie Thompson and her friend Ella were two of GGRLC’s youngest supporters, holding bake sales to raise money for our rescued Goldens.

After Ellie suddenly lost her beloved GGRLC alum Golden, Maizie, with whom she shared a very special bond, she and her mom began Maizie’s Cakes. Over the years, we started receiving donations from Maizie’s Cakes, and recently we had the absolute joy of reconnecting with Ellie.

That little girl holding bake sales for GGRLC has grown into a wonderful young woman, now carrying the torch of Maizie’s Cakes -- still baking, still giving back, and still carrying her love for Maizie with her. 💛

Ellie recently graduated from Belmont and now works at a music agency in Nashville. She also shared something that made us smile: “I love telling people about GGRLC. My whole office here in Nashville keeps up with y’all!”

And there’s one more pretty amazing connection: Ellie worked on the set of Dolly’s musical last year, made lots of treats for her, and even told Dolly about GGRLC! 🐾

Ellie, we miss you too, and we are so happy to have reconnected with you. We couldn’t be prouder of the kind, caring young woman you’ve become. Thank you for continuing to give back and for keeping GGRLC, and sweet Maizie, so close to your heart. 💛

If you’re in the Nashville area and looking for a beautiful cake, follow Ellie at . 🎂🐾
