Our Mission is to provide a community touchstone through the arts, education, and philanthropy. The Greater Muskegon Woman's Club is dedicated to community service, philanthropic work and friendship. Our beautiful club house is a registered historic landmark built in 1903, and is available to rent for weddings and other special events. We are very proud of our unique club house and are dedicated t
o preserving this important piece of Muskegon’s history. Our Club provides a gracious, friendly environment for our members and to the community. The Club offers literary, musical, philanthropic, educational, social, and artistic opportunities. GMWC holds various events and fund raisers throughout the year, including the Green Eggs & Ham breakfast, a Princess Party, Bugs, Trucks, and Heros Event, and the Gingerbread event, where children have fun and each go home with a book, and for adults, Evening by Candlelight, and that’s just to name a few. These events are all open to the public, and help finance the preservation of the building and other philanthropic and community service endeavors. In addition, we hold the Women of Accomplishment award which focuses on area women. Women who achieve this award are honored at a breakfast, and their names are added to our Women of Achievement Hall. In 2021 we completely replaced our old clay tile roof with a new metal roof that mimics the clay tiles at a cost of over $140,000 that is paid in full! Now we’re set to tackle the interior water damage with the help of friends. As an organization comprised completely of volunteers, membership means a lot of different things, as each member puts her own personal mark on what the Club achieves. Not only are lasting friendships formed, but our membership makes a difference in the community. If you join our club, you will not only be “Continuing the Legacy” as our Club motto says, but you will also become a part of Muskegon’s rich history.
