Our award-winning club embraces "Service Above Self." We meet nearly every Thursday from noon-1 pm at Murray Banquet Center on 12th St. Come see for yourself!

The Murray Rotary is part of the 1.2 million member Rotary International organization that exists in over 200 countries. Our club is regularly recognized as one of the top clubs in Kentucky's District 6710 and in the entire state. The Murray Rotary serves and works to make a difference in our community, region, country and world through various local, regional and international projects. From disaster relief, to college scholarships, to elementary school dictionaries, to water projects around the world, Murray Rotary serves. We are well-known throughout Rotary circles for having lively fun at our meetings, answering the call when any need arises, and for outstanding informational programs at weekly Rotary meetings. Rotary meets the needs of youth as well. Our club also sponsors the Rotaract Club at Murray State University and Interact club at Calloway Middle and Murray High schools.

Congratulations to CCHS senior Johnathan Wright, our September Student of the Month from the Area Technology Center!

Johnathan is a carpentry student at the ATC and was nominated by his instructor, Brian Provine, who describes him as dependable, hardworking, self-motivated and a great team player. Johnathan also takes machine tool and electrical classes and has a 3.42 GPA between CCHS and ATC.

Outside of school, Johnathan works about 25 hours a week at Corvette Lanes in Murray. After graduation in May, he plans to attend Murray State to major in chemistry, with hopes of working locally in a chemical plant.

Congratulations, Johnathan! We’re proud to recognize you and wish you all the best in your future!

Johnathan is the son of Jessica Craycraft and Matthew Wright.

Last Thursday, we welcomed Randy McCallon, who shared insights into the work of the Calloway County Conservation District and the importance of protecting our local natural resources.

Randy discussed the role conservation plays in protecting our soil and water, supporting local agriculture, and preserving the land for future generations. His presentation highlighted how conservation efforts benefit our community and the people who depend on our natural resources every day.

Thanks, Randy, for joining us at the Murray Rotary Club and sharing more about the important work being done right here in Calloway County!

A big thank you to the folks at La Cocina for hosting our Murray Rotary Club Rebate Night last Tuesday, and to everyone who came out to eat, visit and support Rotary.

We had a great crowd, plenty of good food and lots of fellowship. Nights like this are a great reminder of what can happen when our local businesses and community come together to support the work of Rotary.

We appreciate everyone who came out and helped make the night a success. And, of course, a special thanks to La Cocina Mexicana for helping make it happen!

We were proud to welcome CCHS senior Maya Munoz to the Murray Rotary Club as our first CCHS Student of the Month for the 2026-27 school year!

Maya ranks #1 in her class with a 4.16 GPA and has a 33 ACT. She has been a member of the Calloway County Academic Team since fourth grade, earning more than 20 top-10 state finishes and helping lead Quick Recall teams to state runner-up and fifth-place finishes. She is also CCHS FBLA co-president, a seven-year dancer, and an active member of several school organizations.

Beyond her own accomplishments, Maya coaches the CCMS Arts & Humanities team and volunteers with Special Olympics and her church youth group. After graduation, she plans to study biochemistry and genetics with the goal of becoming a genetic oncologist.

We’re proud to recognize Maya and wish her the very best as she continues to dream big!

We had a great program at Rotary this week as Dava Hayden joined us to share some of the exciting things happening at The Doran Arboretum at Murray State University.

Dava gave us a look at the work underway at the arboretum, the plans for its future, and the many ways this beautiful space provides opportunities for students, the university and the entire community.

It’s always interesting to learn more about the people and projects helping make Murray an even better place to live, work and visit. We appreciate Dava taking the time to join us and share what’s happening at the arboretum!
