⭐ Congratulations to the Rotary Club of Murray on being named a Star Club for the 2025–26 Rotary year!

District Governor Sherrill Smith recently presented the Star Club emblem to Past President Stuart Alexander, recognizing the club’s commitment to supporting The Rotary Foundation.

In Rotary District 6710, a Star Club is a club whose members collectively give an average of at least $100 per member to the Rotary Foundation’s Annual Fund/SHARE during the Rotary year. Those contributions help fund Rotary’s work both locally and around the world.

It’s a great accomplishment that reflects the generosity of our members and their commitment to Service Above Self. Congratulations to Stuart and all of our Murray Rotarians who helped make this recognition possible!

Congratulations to Jane Bright on receiving her Paul Harris Fellow recognition from the Rotary Club of Murray!

Jane joined our club in March 2026 and has already made a wonderful impact through her involvement in our community. She serves as Director of Hospice at Murray-Calloway County Hospital, where she brings her nursing experience and commitment to compassionate care to the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

Pictured presenting Jane with her Paul Harris Fellow are Steven Hunter, left, and Rotary District 6710 Governor Sherrill Smith, on Jane’s right.

Please join us in congratulating Jane on this well-deserved honor and thanking her for her service to Rotary and our community! 💙💛

At last Thursday’s regular meeting, the Rotary Club of Murray welcomed Sherrill Smith, Rotary District 6710 Governor.

Governor Smith presented Club President Terry Strieter with several items featuring this year’s Rotary theme, “Create Lasting Impact.” In return, our club leaders presented Sherrill with a Murray State soccer shirt.

The gift was especially fitting, as Governor Smith is a former women’s soccer coach at Midway College. We were glad to welcome Sherrill to Murray and appreciate him taking the time to visit with our club!

On August 6, our regular meeting featured Tim Thurmond, president of the Murray Pickleball Association, and Randy Herndon, vice president, who joined us to share the story of how the Rudolph Pickleball Complex went from a crazy idea to a state-of-the-art sports complex. Today, the facility is enjoyed by pickleball enthusiasts ranging in age from 8 to 80—and it’s helping make Murray a destination for players from near and far.

The Rotary Club of Murray is pleased to welcome two new members to the club. Steven Curlin (R) and Justin Lange (C), who will share a corporate membership representing One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning.

A Rotary corporate membership is a wonderful option for businesses looking to offer leadership and community service opportunities for multiple employees. It allows an organization to designate a Primary Corporate Member as well as up to two Alternate Corporate Members, providing flexibility for your company’s involvement.

At Thursday's regular meeting, the Rotary Club of Murray was honored to welcome several outstanding leaders from Murray State Athletics, along with Dave Winder, the legendary "Voice of the Racers." We appreciate each of them taking the time to share updates and insights about their programs with our members.

Pictured from left to right are: Rotary Club of Murray President Terry Streiter, Dave Winder, Murray State women's volleyball head coach Tristyn Krzos, Murray State women's soccer head coach Ben Madsen, Murray State football head coach Jody Wright, and Murray State men's basketball head coach Ryan Miller.

The Rotary Club of Murray is proud to be a longtime supporter of Murray State University and Racer Athletics. We value the positive impact these coaches, student-athletes, and athletic programs have on our university and the entire Murray-Calloway County community. Go Racers!

President Terry Strieter (right) and DG-Nominee James Gallimore (left) are pictured with CCHS sophomore Abby Rekow (third from left) who recently returned from three weeks in Germany this summer as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange. Now she will host Lotta Koepke, a student from Germany (second from left), in Calloway County for three weeks in return.

For more than 100 years, Rotary has worked to build peace and understanding by bringing people together across cultures. Through the Rotary Youth Exchange program, students gain lifelong friendships, broaden their perspectives, and develop the skills to become future leaders with a greater appreciation for our global community. The Rotary Club of Murray is proud to support opportunities that create lasting connections around the world.
