The MBAS is having a Fish Fry Saturday April 24, 2026 from 11am until we're out of fish. We are only frying catfish fillets (no Swai). We've revamped our system to ensure that you get your dinner or sandwich piping hot without excessive delay. Please come back, come out and support our Scholarship event.

The MBAS continues to work diligently to continue the tradition of providing scholarships and educational opportunities for the “ Purpose of Education” to black alumni and minority students from the Murphysboro School District.

Our prior MBAS page was hacked and disabled, so a new page has begun... We've lost track of many members so please make sure to like and follow our page. We are in the last leg of our fundraising campaign for our scholarship fund for this academic year. Last year we were able to award three $1000 scholarships to: Gabryelle Davis majoring in Radiology SIU-C; Jakale Hill majoring in Education and Ministry at SIU-C; and Anika Ellis majoring in Radiology at Roosevelt University Schaumburg. We hope to give three $1000 academic scholarships to three eligible minority graduates from Murphysboro High School in June or July of 2026. The requirements for the MBAS scholarship is attached. Please feel free to share this information.
