Father's Day is just around the corner, and there's no better time to celebrate the dads, grandfathers, mentors, and father figures who make a difference in our lives.

As you make plans for the weekend, we encourage you to support local businesses right here in Cherokee County. Treat Dad to a meal at one of our local restaurants, pick up a unique gift from a local shop, plan an outdoor adventure, or consider purchasing a gift card from a local business so he can enjoy a favorite experience at his convenience.

Gift cards are a simple way to support our local restaurants, retailers, and service providers while giving Dad the flexibility to choose something he'll truly enjoy.

When you shop local, dine local, and support local, you're investing in the businesses that help make our community a special place to live, work, and visit.

From all of us at the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, we wish all the dads and father figures in our community a very Happy Father's Day!

The Town of Murphy and Cherokee County Tourism Development Authority will kick off the Independence Day holiday with two free community events at Konehete Veterans Park ahead of the larger America 250 Heritage Festival celebration on July 4.

The festivities begin Thursday, July 2, with a free family movie night featuring Disney's "Zootopia 2." Bounce house activities will open at 5 p.m., and the movie will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The celebration continues Friday, July 3, with Cherokee County's first-ever drone show. The free event will take place at dark and will feature a high-tech aerial display honoring America's heritage and freedom.

These events lead into Cherokee County's America 250 Heritage Festival on Saturday, July 4, in downtown Murphy. The festival will run from 4 p.m. until dark and will feature live music, cultural performances, family activities, food vendors, local shopping opportunities, and a celebration of the nation's 250th birthday.

The evening will conclude with a fireworks display launched from downtown Murphy, providing some of the best viewing opportunities right in the heart of town.

Together, the movie night, drone show, America 250 Heritage Festival, and downtown fireworks will create three days of family-friendly activities celebrating the community, its heritage, and America's 250th birthday.

Important update for Forks & Corks 2026

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Forks & Corks: Local Savor 2026 scheduled for Monday, June 15th.

After moving the event to a different day of the week to better accommodate our food and beverage vendors, ticket sales for the new date did not reach the level needed to ensure a successful event for all involved. As a result, we believe postponing is the most responsible decision for our vendors, sponsors, attendees, and community.

This decision was not made lightly. Our Board of Directors and staff recognize the significant investment of time, resources, and energy made by our participating businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. We want to ensure that when this event takes place, it delivers the experience and value everyone deserves.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

One of the things we love most about serving Cherokee County is getting to support and celebrate our members across the region. ❤️

If you're looking for a great day trip, take a short drive over to Hayesville and explore some of the wonderful businesses, attractions, and experiences that make Clay County special.

Start your visit at the Clay County NC Chamber of Commerce, enjoy a picnic at The Beal Center with lunch from DragonAss Smoked BBQ or The Ark if they’re in town, catch a summer concert at the gazebo, take in a show at Peacock Performing Arts Center in Hayesville, NC, learn about local history at the Cherokee Homestead Exhibit, and finish the day with dinner at The Copper Door.

We are proud to partner with and support our neighboring communities, and we're grateful to have so many outstanding members throughout our mountain region. Be sure to show them some love the next time you're planning an adventure!

What a day on the course! ⛳

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce 2026 Annual Golf Classic such a success.

We are incredibly grateful to Mountain Harbour Golf for once again providing a beautiful venue and outstanding hospitality for this year's tournament.

Thank you to Gray Matters Boutique, Dragonass BBQ, and Rare Bird Emporium for donating fantastic prizes that helped make the day even more exciting for our players.

A special thank you to our swag bag sponsors: Buck Bald Brewing, Fields of the Woods, Farley Insurance, AgSouth Farm Credit, Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing, Mountain Credit Union, and State Farm. Your generosity helped us welcome every participant with some great local goodies.

Congratulations to Harrah's Valley River Casino on their tournament win, and to The McNabbs for their outstanding performance on the course!

We also want to recognize our incredible volunteers, sponsors, teams, and individual players. Events like this would not be possible without your support, enthusiasm, and commitment to our Chamber and community.

Thank you for helping us strengthen local business, build connections, and make this year's Golf Classic one to remember. We can't wait to see everyone again next year!
