Some North Georgia counties have been added to the flood watch, including Union and Gilmer.

The flood watch will be in effect until 9PM tonight for all these areas.

Tomorrow morning we will be put under a flood watch.
The National Weather Service states that there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere and as the storms move through Monday, we'll likely get very heavy rainfall. Some areas may get no rain and others get 3 inches. Any area that is already soaked, low lying or flood prone may experience flooding.

The heaviest rains are expected to be west of I-75 but it may be the whole region. North Georgia has not been placed under a flood watch at this time. See the areas in green for the flood watch zone.

Please use caution driving. Avoid flood prone areas and keep a distance from creeks and rivers.

Showers will continue this week.

Another Ford recall- this time for
2021-2026 Ford Bronco Sport
2022-2026 Ford Maverick

This recall is so sensitive that Ford has issued a do not drive order for these vehicles due to the risk of a crash but it is a small number of the vehicles.

Letters will be sent to registered owners on June 5th.

According to the National Highway Traffic Administration, the vehicles are recalled due to an installation issue.

Our potential for strong storms has greatly declined. Most of the storms are moving south and west of us.

All our local fire departments need volunteers. Hanging Dog Fire Department is facing a crisis that we all feel coming. Without volunteers our fire department model collapses. There is no replacement plan, no county wide funding for paid firefighters. The volunteer system is what we have, and it is slowly dying. Please help us save it. The alternative is big increases in taxes to go to paid departments.

Not much change in the afternoon weather update. Storms are possible but our risk is marginal. Time frame for the worst in our area has been narrowed to 4-6 PM.
