Families United Network: Supporting Expectant Mothers with Compassion and Care

At Families United Network, we understand that expectant mothers face incredibly difficult decisions. That’s why we offer unbiased, judgment-free counseling to help women navigate their options with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re considering adoption or simply need a safe, supportive space to explore your choices, we’re here to listen and guide you every step of the way.

Our Services Include:
• Compassionate Counseling: We provide thoughtful, non-judgmental support to help expectant mothers determine the best path forward for both themselves and their unborn child.
• Adoption Planning: If an adoption plan is right for the expectant mother, we work closely with her to create a personalized adoption plan that respects her wishes and supports her throughout the entire process.
• Ongoing Support: From the moment a decision is made, we walk alongside the birth mother through every stage, offering guidance, emotional support, and assistance with the legal and logistical steps of placing a child for adoption.

This week, we celebrate the people who show up for our children every single day. 💙

Governor Shapiro has designated the first week of June as Child Welfare Professionals Appreciation Week, honoring the admirable work of our public child welfare workforce.

And the recognition continues! The second week of June celebrates our private child welfare professionals and providers.
These are the people who walk alongside families during their hardest moments. They listen. They advocate. They show up.

At Families United Network, we see the heart behind this work—and we're grateful for every caseworker, provider, and advocate who pours into the lives of children and families.

To every child welfare professional: thank you. Your dedication makes a real difference. 💙 Know someone in this field? Tag them below and share a little appreciation. 👇

Raising a child with severe emotional or behavioral health needs can feel overwhelming. You don't have to do it alone. 💙
Families United Network offers a Family Peer Support Program for families in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. This is a non-clinical service, which means it's about walking beside you—not diagnosing or treating. You'll work with a Family Peer Specialist who has lived experience raising a child with mental or behavioral health needs. They truly understand what you're going through.

Here's how they support your family:
▶️Help you identify your needs and build a Family-Driven Action Plan
▶️Connect you to helpful services and resources
▶️Build your confidence to advocate for yourself and your child
▶️Stay by your side throughout the journey

This June, Families United Network recognizes National Reunification Month and the people who support families on the path back to one another. 💙

Reunification is more than a case goal — it is a deeply human process rooted in safety, compassion, trauma-informed care, and real support for parents, children, kinship caregivers, and extended family. This month, we invite you to help raise awareness, encourage families in your community, and honor the work being done to help families stay connected.
