Meet Shelby Smith, one of our dedicated auxiliary members! Shelby is 27 years old and enjoys spending her spare time making memories with her husband and kiddos. ❤️

She proudly serves as the Treasurer of our auxiliary and loves having the opportunity to give back to the community. One of her favorite things about the fire department is watching the fire trucks head out on calls, and her favorite event put on by the auxiliary is Cookies with Santa. 🚒🎅

We are so grateful to have Shelby as part of our auxiliary family and appreciate all she does to support our department and community! 👏❤️

Meet Michaela Dodson, one of our amazing auxiliary members! Michaela is 32 years old and enjoys spending her spare time taking care of her kids, reading, drawing, and listening to music. ❤️

She proudly serves as a member of our auxiliary because she loves being a part of something bigger and helping support our community. One of her favorite things about the fire department is seeing the fire trucks, and when it comes to events, she loves them all! 🚒

We are so thankful to have Michaela as part of our auxiliary family and appreciate everything she does for our department and community! 👏

🔥 Meet Robert C. Nunez , Our Auxiliary President 🔥

At 61 years old, Robert proudly serves as President of our Auxiliary and is passionate about promoting community fire, health, safety, and goodwill. ❤️

When he’s not helping our department and community, Robert teaches EMT students at Ivy Tech’s Lawrence campus and enjoys training new recruits entering the fire and medical service field. 🚑🚒

Some of his favorite events our department puts on are Cookies with Santa and our Hog Roast! 🍪🎅🐖

We’re thankful for dedicated members like Robert who help make a difference in our community every day! 👏🔥

This week is National EMS week, we choose to celebrate as one. Emergency Medical Services as a whole is more than treating patients and transporting them to definitive care. It's brother and sisterhood amongst the profession aimed at making us all better. Celebrating the wins over the losses, continuously learning, and helping each other when a time of need arises. Here's to us, for taking care of our respective communities and each other.
