September 1, 1939 - Today is the day that marked the beginning of World War II. The day that changed our world. It all began when the N**i German invaded Poland with a three-front Blitzkrieg - a military tactic designed to create disorganization among enemy forces through mobile forces and locally concentrated power. Poland was invaded by German forces from the North, South, and West in the morning after Gleiwitz incident. And this is just the beginning of a global war that lasted until 1945.
World War II was the deadliest conflict in human history, with a record of about 85 million fatalities, most of whom were civilians. Massacre, genocide of the Holocaust, strategic bombing, death from starvation and diseases, and the use of Nuclear Weapons in war.
During this war, we have lost countless lives, the lives of those who only seek Peace and Freedom.
Today, as we remember the beginning of a tragic part in our history, let us also remember all the men and women who have taken part in restoring peace and ending the war. Let us all remember our fallen heroes; and most of all, let us not forget and honor all our War Veterans.
Thank you for your sacrifice and service for our people and for our nation. You are not forgotten.
