Clyde, Ruben and Jolene just strolling along 😍

Clyde is really tall, we call him our little horse, but he is such a gentle soul and so is Ruben. Jolene still doesn't quite trust us but she is coming around. Some days she loves us and other days she runs away. Goats have a mind of their own anyway, but she certainly has her own tune that she dances to πŸ’ƒπŸΌ

This is what my heaven looks like! All the animals are getting along and grazing together. The two donkeys, Tom and Jerry are doing so well with everybody and now they are just free ranging with the others.
However, they go into their install at night and sleep in there, they have claimed it as their spot, but the door is always open.

Somebody has come to Happy Heart 🀩
Little PomPom has found a new home here with us. She is a dwarf, sheep and needed a place to go and she fits right in.
Mama Frankie likes her and little PomPom is so good natured and curious about life.
After she lets me give her a haircut she will be good to go with the other ones, but it could be quite the wrestling match πŸ˜‚

In the last couple weeks, we lost two of our geese 😭. This morning Gunny was dead in the coupe.
It is so sad because they are so overbred and really are just made to live a short time, long enough to gain weight to get slaughtered.
We had them for over three years and Goosy is still alive.
Gunny was a special boy, he grew up around ducks, so he was definitely in love with our big white duck, and every day he would come visit her and hang out with her and protect her fiercely!
I will miss that boy, I will even miss that he was going after me if I got too close to ducky πŸ˜­πŸ™

We took in 9 hens who are in rough shape!
We are not 100% certain what the living conditions were but we do know that they were horrific. Those poor girls are so skinny literally skin and bones. Their feathers are all tethered or nonexistent and I've never seen animals so starved.
When they came here and I put the food bowl out they were so happy to finally have food and WATER!!!
It truly boggles my mind that they didn't even have enough water!
I'm sure that many more where they came from but there is a limit to how many we can take.
We will keep you guys updated on their progress and I'm hoping that all nine of them will make it. One of them is in really rough shape, but I feel she is turning the corner a little bit.
We are definitely using more than triple the food now that we did before but honestly, nothing makes me happier than seeing them so thrilled to eat.
There was a time in my life when I didn't have money for food either and it was brutal. So whenever I can feed other beings, it really makes me happy πŸ€©πŸ’–πŸ™

We got two donkeys yesterday, Fletcher and Nautilus, a.k.a. οΏΌTom and Jerry!
Oh my god we are in LOVE with them!!
They are old boys, 20+ years and I think they will be happy to just live out their lives on a beautiful pasture without having to do anything.
They were rescued from a slaughter by a group called Colby’s Crew Rescue!οΏΌ Please check them out. They are doing unbelievably great work!!!οΏΌ
Erhard is a little obsessed with donkeys and it is so wonderful that their arrival is lining up pretty well with the German Father's Day!
