What a blessed day it was on Friday as we held our fifth annual Hobe Williams Memorial Golf Tournament at Clinchveiw Golf course. We had the most teams ever and we raised $15,550 (3,887 hot meals)to help the Daily Bread Community Kitchen continue our mission to make sure no one goes hungry here in Morristown. We want to thank Kelly Keck and all the staff at Clinchveiw for hosting our tournament. All our wonderful sponsors and the players that came out and played. We want to thank Out Of The Pit BBQ for providing our wonderful lunch. Congratulations to the winning teams and we hope to see each of you next year as we partner together to help the hungry and less fortunate in our community. God be praised!

On September 9,1994 the Daily Bread Community Kitchen served the first meal at 222 West Main Street. There was in attendance that day many city leaders, church leaders, and the wonderful volunteers that helped prepare and serve the 47 people who came to eat a hot meal that day. That has been 32 years and 2.4 million meals ago! The founders of this great ministry Hobe & Sue Williams are now in heaven with Jesus, but the mission still continues to make sure no one goes hungry here in Morristown. I want to say a big Thank You to all the many people who have helped and continue to help and support this great work. Just know that you are making a difference in the lives of the hungry and less fortunate here in our community. Please continue to lift us in prayer as we continue to prepare and serve hot meals to anyone who comes through our doors. God be praised for his blessing on our ministry and for the many wonderful volunteers that continue their faithful service here each day!

Malachi 3:10 states, I will open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing. That is exactly what Jesus did this week at Boone’s Creek Christian Church in Johnson City as the students attending vacation bible school gathered supplies and made monetary donations to support our mission to make sure no one goes hungry here in Morristown. I am overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from my church family! Praise be to the Lord as these kids shined bright the light of Jesus. Thank you BCCC!!!

What a great Saturday as the Morristown Postal Service employees held their annual stamp out hunger food drive. This was the 30th year that they have given this food to the Daily Bread and what a blessing!!! Thank you to our awesome community that put the food by their mailbox and to the many employees at the post office who helped to sort the food. The Daily Bread has been able to prepare and serve more than 2 million meals to the hungry and less fortunate over the past 32 years and the employees at the Morristown Post Office have played a huge part in helping make this possible. Thank you so much! Praise the Lord!
