What a great Saturday as the Morristown Postal Service employees held their annual stamp out hunger food drive. This was the 30th year that they have given this food to the Daily Bread and what a blessing!!! Thank you to our awesome community that put the food by their mailbox and to the many employees at the post office who helped to sort the food. The Daily Bread has been able to prepare and serve more than 2 million meals to the hungry and less fortunate over the past 32 years and the employees at the Morristown Post Office have played a huge part in helping make this possible. Thank you so much! Praise the Lord!

What a great prayer breakfast we had today. Pastor Dustin Epps from Faith Baptist Church delivered a great message and we had some great fellowship. I want to give a shout out to our county mayor Chris Cutshaw for making the monthly prayer breakfast a priority. Chris and his sweet wife Jackie volunteer every other month on the second Saturday and help prepare and serve meals to the hungry and less fortunate in our community. They have been loyal volunteers for eight years now and are true servants!!

What a fantastic weekend as the Stripped Bass Fishing Tournament was held at Cherokee lake. Many thanks to David and Tom Richardson and all the many fishermen that came from all over the southeast to support the Daily Bread and our efforts to make sure no one goes hungry here in Morristown. The captains dinner was held Friday evening at Hillcrest Baptist and we had 125 in attendance. Saturday was fishing and donation day. Praise the Lord.

What a blessed day it was at the Daily Bread as Santa Claus made a visit and helped to hand out 275 new toys! Atmos energy provided the hamburgers and hotdogs and grilled them. Our wonderful staff and awesome volunteers served 311 meals to the hungry and less fortunate. I want to thank the employees at Koch foods and the congregation at Landmark Church of God for providing the toys. I pray that everyone has a blessed merry Christmas and that the the baby Jesus fills each heart with the love and joy of the holiday season!

Hey kids it’s almost time as Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to the Daily Bread on December 23rd to spread the love and magic of the Christmas season. There will be hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings and new toys for each child. We will open for lunch at 11:30 and try and make sure every child gets a new toy for Christmas. I want to thank Atmos energy and their wonderful employees for providing and preparing the hamburgers and hotdogs. And to the employees at Koch foods and the congregation at Landmark Church of God for donating the toys. Hope to see you there! Merry Christmas

What a fantastic glorious Thanksgiving Day as a total of 637 hot meals were provided to the hungry and less fortunate at the Daily Bread. With the help of our wonderful volunteers we delivered 404 meals out to the community and served 233 in our dining room. Captive Free Ministries gave away free coats, gloves, blankets to those in need and the local Moose Lodge gave away snacks and hand warmers. Thank you to all the wonderful people who came to prepare, serve, and give to those in need and helped to make sure that everyone had a great meal! Praise be to the Lord!!!!
