We are so grateful to First Baptist Church Morristown for including us and one of our clients in their work day!

They cleaned out our flower bed, added new dirt and a beautiful layer of stone. They were also able to bless one of our clients by giving them a freshly painted porch! Thank you to all the volunteers for showing love to our community today!

This one is close to home! We are so grateful for the parent that brought this infant to a Safe Haven Baby Boxes in Knoxville.

Would you join us in praying for the mom and/or dad that bravely surrendered their child and would you also pray for the family that is already preparing to welcome this child into their home?

GOOD NEWS: A baby is safe and unharmed, after being surrendered to the Safe Haven Baby Box at the Knoxville Fire Department Station on Western Avenue last night!

According to KFD, on Tuesday, October 20, around 7:47 p.m., station 17 received a "Baby Box Alert" for their baby box a the station.

Three firefighters immediately went to the box and discovered a healthy baby inside. The crew realized the infant was not harmed or injured, but called an ambulance to take the child to the hospital for evaluation just to make sure. The baby is currently under the care of hospital staff, according to the release from KFD.

This is actually the THIRD baby that has been surrendered safely to this particular Baby Box on Western Avenue. The most recent surrender was this past March.

The box was the first in Tennessee, and was installed on February 17, 2023 with funding assistance from the Craig Foundation, according to Tim Woods with KFD.

Under Tennessee's Safe Haven law, a parent or guardian can surrender their newborn anonymously within 45 days of birth, as long as the child is unharmed.

The box is a climate-controlled and safe environment for the baby, and there is an immediate alert sent to first responders to ensure the baby gets the help it needs.

The Safe Haven Baby Box at this location and all others are available 24/7.

So thankful for the lives of infants that are inevitably saved because of this resource!

Please note the shared post below. Additionally, our community partners at Morristown Hamblen Central Services, Inc. will be closed Oct 2 for a training.

The Hamblen County Health Department will be closed Thursday, October 8th through Monday, October 12th to move into their new building. The health department will be back to normal operating hours on Tuesday, October 13th at their new address: 1570 Buffalo Trail Suite 1, Morristown, TN 37814.

For anyone seeking services from the health department, including vital records, please feel free to contact any of the area local health departments. The health departments closest to Hamblen County include Cocke County Health Department, Grainger County Health Department, and Jefferson County Health Department.

Child Passenger Safety Week is such an important reminder that sometimes the little things we do as moms are the biggest ways we protect our babies.

From checking the straps to making sure their car seat is installed correctly and fits them as they grow, every detail matters.

We hope we’ll never need that extra protection, but if the unthinkable ever happens, we want to know we did everything we could to keep them safe. Because these tiny people are our whole world, and getting them home safely is always the most important part of the journey. Everything can change as soon as you think ‘it won’t happen to me’.
