Something special is happening here at Storybook Tails Rescue Ranch! 🎄❤️

I’ve been spending my days turning little corners of our ranch into something straight out of a Christmas movie!

Here’s a tiny peek behind the scenes at what I’ve been working on around the greenhouse.

There’s still SO much to do, but I can’t wait to share what we’re creating with all of you!

And the sweetest part? Every bit of this is being done to help support the animals who call our ranch home. ❤️🐾

MAGNOLIA UPDATE🎈

We’ve raised enough cheddar to get Magnolia to the Vet!! Thank you to everyone who made a donation! I appreciate you more than you know!
She will be seeing the vet on Tuesday morning and I will let you know how it goes. Again, truly thank you!! 🥰

💔 MAGNOLIA IS STILL WAITING FOR THE HELP SHE DESPERATELY NEEDS. 🐾

This is the part of animal rescue that breaks our hearts.

We found Magnolia. We brought her to safety. We made sure she would never have to spend another night alone, frightened, and wondering if anyone was coming for her.

But rescuing her was only the beginning.

We haven’t raised enough money to get Magnolia the veterinary care she desperately needs.

She has already gone without proper care for far too long. She didn’t choose the life she was given, and she certainly doesn’t deserve to keep suffering because of it.

We are doing everything we can, but we cannot do this alone.

We found her. We got her safe. Now we need your help getting her healthy. 🤍🐾

“I need to go for a walk for my mental health.”

The walk…

Because sometimes life feels like one obstacle after another.

You get over one thing
just to find something else waiting for you.

So you keep going.

You balance your way through the hard parts.
You step over what’s fallen in your path.
You cross waters you weren’t planning to cross.

And some days, you don’t even know exactly where you’re going…

you just know you can’t stay where you are.

But then, somewhere along the way,
you find one small thing that reminds you why you kept going.

A little peace.
A little joy.
A moment that feels like you again.

Maybe that’s what healing actually looks like.

Not having an easy path.

Just continuing to walk it.

One day I heard someone say…

“Stop counting life in years.
Count it in summers.”

And I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.

We spend so much of our lives waiting.

Waiting for things to slow down.
Waiting until we have more money.
Waiting until the house is finished.
Waiting until work isn’t so busy.
Waiting for a better time.

But our kids are growing up while we wait.

If we’re lucky enough to live to 80, we only get about 80 summers.

Maybe life isn’t about how many years we get.

Maybe it’s about how many summers we get with the people we love…

and remembering to actually live them while they’re here. 🤍

We are beyond grateful for the incredible doctors, surgeons, technicians, and staff at NC State who gave Joker the chance to fight for his life.

There are moments in rescue when an animal needs a level of emergency and specialty care that simply can’t be provided on the farm. Joker needed surgeons. He needed a hospital. He needed a team willing to fight right alongside him.

And that is exactly what he found at NC State.

They didn’t just see a goat with a devastating injury. They saw Joker. They saw a life worth saving.

We will forever be advocates for animals and for giving them every chance possible. They feel pain. They feel fear. They trust us to make decisions for them.

Joker is living proof of why that advocacy matters.

He lost a leg, but he did not lose his fight.

And thanks to an incredible team of people who believed his life was worth fighting for, our Mayor gets to come home. ❤️🐐

Thank you, NC State, for giving Joker his chance.

This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever had to make.

For years, we’ve poured everything we have into saving animals. We never wanted to ask for help like this, but the reality is that we are struggling.

We currently care for more than 100 rescued animals. Feed, hay, veterinary care, medications, supplements, and daily expenses continue to rise, and our financial reserves have been exhausted.

The animals don’t know we’re struggling. They still need to eat. They still need their medications. They still depend on us every single day.
