In between nursing home visits, some of the upkeep I have to do is adding matte varnish to our Reborns to protect the paint. They sometimes become shiny from handling them, and changing their clothes. Applying the Matte varnish is a necessary step to keeping them like new. Looks strange here, because the vinyl can’t touch anything while it’s drying. I have to get creative sometimes, because I do my best to not take them apart to do this. Taking them apart would mean I would have to empty the weighting material out of the limbs, and use new cable ties to re-attach them. It’s a step I try to avoid.
