We’ve been out and about this week, connecting with our community and celebrating the people and organizations making a difference! 💜

From enjoying Handshakes at the Harvest and spreading awareness for Domestic Violence Awareness Month with Go Purple, to supporting Women of Distinction and EWVCF scholarship sponsor Mary Duke, we’ve been grateful for the opportunity to celebrate community, generosity, and philanthropy.

We also wrapped up the week soaking up new ideas, connections, and inspiration at the Philanthropy West Virginia Conference in Charleston!

At EWVCF, we’re proud to be part of a community that shows up, lifts others, and makes a lasting impact. 💚

Ida Geneva Bullett Scholarship Gift Accepted

During our recent Board of Directors meeting, we were honored to accept a meaningful new gift that will create lasting opportunity for our community.

The Ida Geneva Bullett Scholarship honors a loving mother whose life was defined by compassion and service to others by providing a scholarship to a Martinsburg High School senior planning a healthcare career, with a preference given to African American students, followed by minority students and then first-generation students. Now through October 5th, EWVCF is accepting applications for grants from the Frank C. Fischer Veterans Fund. Organizations with programs serving Berkeley, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, and/or Morgan Counties are eligible to apply. The maximum grant award is $2000.

🏠 NIP Tax Incentives for Donors Now Available! 🏠

The Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation (EWVCF) has received $23,400 in Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) tax credits!

When you make a qualifying gift of $500 or more, you may be eligible to receive a 50% West Virginia income tax credit. Donors can earn up to $2,000 in NIP tax credits with dedicated gifts to EWVCF of $4,000 or more.

This year, NIP donations to EWVCF will support the County Impact Fund of the donor’s choice and a new five-county Emergency Housing Fund to help address areas of critical need across our region.

⚠️ NIP tax credits are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Two Rivers Giving Circle Grant application is now open:

The Two Rivers Giving Circle is one of the few local sources of grants for Eastern Panhandle nonprofit groups that are engaged in historic preservation and natural resource conservation.

Two Rivers Giving Circle members come from Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties, and confine their grant making to those counties.

Flash flooding has disrupted homes, small businesses, and neighborhoods across Lewis County, but together, we can help them rebuild. The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation set up the Lewis County Emergency Relief Fund to offer assistance. See details in the post.
