Attention Northeast Kingdom Vermonters!

Today, June 3 at 5:30pm in Lyndonville.

The Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) is inviting public comment on a proposed rule that would guide how state lands are planned and managed for the future. Nationally, we have seen public lands being under attack, and in Vermont, although we have a strong conservation ethic, it seems poised to weaken rules protecting state lands. As we have seen, all conservation policies come under attack; we need you to submit a public comment to ensure Vermont’s state lands are protected.

Another magnificent day exploring the future Connecticut River Valley Trail.

Heads-up! After four years of hard-fought advocacy by Standing Trees and our allies, Vermont ANR is doing something it’s never done before: it’s creating a set of requirements for how it will develop plans and make decisions about state lands, and how it will involve the public - meaning YOU - in those deliberations.

The state’s draft rule needs your help to make it better. Submit a comment by June 18th and join one of the upcoming public meetings, starting June 3rd, to make your voice heard! Go to standingtrees.org/blog for a full list of upcoming hearings and a sample comment letter.

Thanks for keeping it wild!

ACTION NEEDED RIGHT NOW: Governor Scott vetoed H.727, the Data Center bill. This bill would have protected your electric rates and access to water by regulating intrusive data centers. However, the Governor is siding with Big Tech and not Vermonters. Call your Representatives and Senators at 802-828-2228 today(Friday) and ask them to override Governor Scott before the Legislature adjourns.

05/27/2026

Rumor has it that Governor Phil Veto Scott is planning on siding with big Tech and big energy by threatening to veto H.727, a common-sense bill to protect rate payers.

SEND THE GOVERNOR A MESSAGE TO PROTECT VERMONT FROM EXPENSIVE, ENERGY-CONSUMING, AND WATER-CONSUMING DATA CENTERS.
