We advocate for children because we were all children once upon a time 💜 Meet our awesome team who work behind the scenes pushing for policy that improves the lives of youth and children in Vermont. As we take the time to prepare for another legislative session, we also think back to simpler times– our youth. Whether it was a teacher, coach, or any trusted adult, we were once given the spark of advocacy by passionate folks before us. Now we’re all grown up and in the same shoes that inspired us as kids. ✊🏾

Our roles are more than just titles. They’re indicative of the passion our team holds for young people all over the state. They are our tools to build a Vermont where children are happy and families are thriving. 🫂✨

Our Summer Celebration & Advocacy Awards are THIS FRIDAY! 🎉 As we celebrate those who work tirelessly to improve the systems children and families depend, this event will shine a spotlight on those who've help advance equitable solutions in our public education system. 📚❤️ The community schools model, launched statewide in 2021, is one such solution that has yielded higher student engagement, teacher retention and community involvement. BREAKING NEWS! 🗞️🙌 Governor Phil Scott has signed H.657 into law! This bill, also known as the DCF omnibus bill, makes sweeping changes to the Department for Children and Families (DCF).

One important change is the elimination of the Reach Up asset limit starting July 1st! The passage of H.657 wouldn't be possible without the collective effort of a coalition of leaders dedicated to improving the lives of ALL Vermonters.❤️

Our Summer Celebration & Advocacy Awards are just a few weeks away! 🎉

This year, we are celebrating the impact of leaders in the community who are advancing equity and improving the education landscape. At our event, we will present the Vermont Student Anti Racism Network with the Youth Leadership Award. 🏆

This group, founded during the pandemic, is a statewide network of youth committed to developing anti racist environments and initiatives for their peers. Today, they are completely youth-led, providing the framework for other youth to get involved with activism and community building. They are “living proof that when young people come together to organize, [they] can build things we never would have dreamed possible.” 🩵

Fantastic leadership for families in Virginia! They tried a voluntary approach under their previous administration and it unsurprising failed to provide equitable coverage to the families who need it most. Kudos to the advocates who made this happen!

Today is big. Paid leave for all is law in Virginia — the first state in the South to pass a comprehensive program.

Thank you and congratulations to the bill sponsors and advocates who didn’t give up and made this happen — and thank you to for her leadership in making this a priority for the Commonwealth.
