One of the clearest signs that a place truly values disabled people is that access feels ordinary.

The main entrance is accessible to everyone.

The elevator works and you do not need to find an employee to use it.

Standard accommodations are included from the beginning.

That is how inclusion should feel.

Access should not be stressful or uncomfortable.

Good accessibility does not stand out.

It is simply there.

The goal for access should not be just 'technically available.'

Access should be usable, reliable, and ready whenever people need it.

An accessibility feature should never come with a scavenger hunt.

If the accessible entrance is locked, all employees should know where to find the key.

If someone needs assistance to use the elevator, a staff member should always be available.

If a sensory space is advertised, families should not find out only after arriving that they needed to give advance notice to use it.

Accessibility is much less helpful if disabled people have to find someone, wait for approval, or hope the right staff member is there.

People should have access when they need it.
