First Touch Family

First Touch Family Offering 💙 Hope 💙 Healing 💙 Community💙 to families who have lost a child, regardless of the child’s age. In 2016 we lost our son Christopher.

As expected, it turned our world upside down. After years of muddling through our grief and learning how to let great grief and great joy reside in the same space we felt God calling us to establish First Touch Family. Our prayer is that we would be able to support families as they navigate their own loss and that we would bring hope and healing to their journey. A journey that only someone who ha

s lost a child can truly understand. First Touch Family has allowed us the honor of walking with families through the trauma of child loss from the initial loss, helping meet emotional and/or financial needs, identifying resources, and connecting families with aftercare in their communities.

We frequently encounter families that have experienced church trauma after the loss of their children, myself included. I don’t believe it was intentional, I just believe most churches/people do not know how to handle the situation unless they have lost a child and/or they are not trauma informed.

I recently had the privilege of attending a small group session with these two brilliant authors and at the 2026 recently.

This book is not just about trauma caused by the church on congregants but also trauma inflicted on leadership in the church by its congregants.

Dr Scot McKnight’s prospective on Paul’s relationship with the Corinthians makes you think and Dr. Gibson does an incredible job of explaining how trauma affects our brain and lives.

Highly recommend!

Much love,
Chrissy

After the Casseroles Go Cold

A Monthly Online Community for Bereaved Families

Join us on the third Tuesday of each month for a time of connection, encouragement, and community with others who understand the journey of child loss. Meeting May 19 at 6:30 pm CST.

These gatherings are designed to be a gentle space where you can show up just as you are. Some months, we’ll explore specific topics like navigating grief milestones, relationships, or honoring your child’s memory. Other times, we’ll focus on self-care, devotionals, and quiet encouragement, offering moments to breathe, reflect, and be poured into.

And sometimes… We’ll simply gather.
No agenda, just a chance to check in, share, and remind one another that we are not alone.

Wherever you are in your grief, you are welcome here. There is no obligation to attend every meeting. We invite you to join us whenever you choose.
Register in advance for this meeting:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the meeting.

We hope to see you there.
