Montgomery Historical Society The Montgomery Historical Society is an organization in the City of Montgomery Texas. We work towards teaching the city of its history. The N. H.

It's main goal is to preserve and keep the history of Montgomery alive today. Davis Pioneer Complex & Museum was closed for some months due to COVID public safety--- WE ARE OPEN AGAIN! The usual days it is open for free tours are Thur.-Sat., 11a-3p, and we will schedule private group tours other days and times. ch at one of Montgomery's restaurants. (IF YOU ARE VISITING MONTGOMERY OUTSIDE OUR USUAL HOURS... GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN USUALLY ARRANGE FOR A DOCENT TO BE PRESENT TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE MUSEUM AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT THE SOCIETY'S OTHR PROPRTIES OR ABOUT MONTGOMERY'S RICH HISTORY, DATING BACK TO THE 1830'S!)

Sixth Annual “Voices from the Past”

The Montgomery Historical Society, Thomas Jefferson Stubbs Chapter 2523 UDC, Montgomery County History Taskforce, and Living Savior Lutheran Church Ladies Group work together to present “Voices from the Past,” a tour of two of the city’s historic cemeteries.

• Local, historic actors in period dress will impart the first-person scripts, informing visitors of the city’s history through the biographies of some of the prominent pioneers, settlers, statesmen and pioneer women buried in these two cemeteries—See history come alive!
• Donations requested: 18 & older, $10; Students 15-17, $5, Under 15, free to tour both locations.

• Tickets online MHS-TX.org, or on event day at the N.H. Davis Museum (14264 Liberty St.), or at either cemetery on the tour.

LOCATIONS:
• Old Methodist “Churchyard” Cemetery, founded 1838—Pond Street at Eva St. (SH105); and
• The “New” Montgomery Cemetery, founded in 1868 —500 block of Old Plantersville Rd.
