Sixth Annual “Voices from the Past”
The Montgomery Historical Society, Thomas Jefferson Stubbs Chapter 2523 UDC, Montgomery County History Taskforce, and Living Savior Lutheran Church Ladies Group work together to present “Voices from the Past,” a tour of two of the city’s historic cemeteries.
• Local, historic actors in period dress will impart the first-person scripts, informing visitors of the city’s history through the biographies of some of the prominent pioneers, settlers, statesmen and pioneer women buried in these two cemeteries—See history come alive!
• Donations requested: 18 & older, $10; Students 15-17, $5, Under 15, free to tour both locations.
• Tickets online MHS-TX.org, or on event day at the N.H. Davis Museum (14264 Liberty St.), or at either cemetery on the tour.
LOCATIONS:
• Old Methodist “Churchyard” Cemetery, founded 1838—Pond Street at Eva St. (SH105); and
• The “New” Montgomery Cemetery, founded in 1868 —500 block of Old Plantersville Rd.
