We are so excited to celebrate American250 with our community!

Stay tuned this week for new announcements and surprises as we share how Monroe plans to honor this momentous milestone in our nation’s history.

First up: Parade sign‑ups for the July 4th Parade are officially LIVE! Community groups, businesses, neighborhoods, and organizations are all invited to participate.

And even bigger news: this year’s parade will feature a FLOAT CONTEST! Entries will be judged on creativity, theme, and overall presentation, with winners announced at the end of the parade.

Time to turn reading into rewards (hello, pizza! 😍)

➡️ Enrollment is OPEN now—everyone must enroll each year (school & homeschool doesn’t carry over)
➡️ Download or update the BOOK IT!® App
➡️ Tap “Enroll Now” and complete the form

🍕 Important: If you downloaded the app earlier and added child profiles, that’s a great first step—but you may not be fully enrolled yet. Be sure to tap “Enroll for Summer” and complete registration!

Once enrolled, your information (registered children) will appear in the app when the program officially begins on June 1.

📖 Pre-K – 6th grade

Every year, the City of Monroe hosts a Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. We invite the community to join us as we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
This year’s ceremony will take place on Monday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. and will include remarks, readings, the raising of flags, and other traditional observances. A full program will be shared once finalized.
