The City of Monroe presents Light Up the Sky: America250, hosted by the Monroe Lions Club

This treasured annual event is coming in with a BANG. We’re thrilled to share that this year’s celebration will feature a brand‑new pyro‑musical fireworks display from Yokum Fireworks — a synchronized show of music and fireworks that will make this July 4th one to remember.

You’ll also find games, activities, food trucks, and family‑friendly fun throughout the evening. Stay tuned - tomorrow we will be announcing the headlining musical act!

Tonight, members and families gathered to honor three Local 3824 members on their retirement.

Battalion Chief Rusty Rickard and Firefighter Todd Waddell retire after more than 36 years of dedicated service to our community. Lieutenant Paul Peters retires after 26 years of dedicated service.

We thank all three of them for their leadership, experience, and the time they spent helping make Local 3824 what it is today.

Alert! The Monroe Fire Department is flushing hydrants this month. You may notice temporary discolored water or lower pressure — this is normal and will clear up. Run cold water until it’s clear and avoid doing laundry if water is discolored.

Our Monroe Professional Firefighters recently donated $500 to support a local resident who is bravely battling Ewing Sarcoma Bone Cancer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ian and his family as they continue this fight. We are grateful to be part of a community that comes together to support one another during difficult times.
