It’s National Fire Prevention Week! 🔥 A great time to remind you that the City of Monroe Fire Department offers FREE smoke detector installation for residents in Monroe and Lemon Township.

Through our partnership with the American Red Cross Sound the Alarm. Save a Life. campaign, Monroe firefighters will visit your home to:
• Install new smoke alarms
• Replace non‑functioning alarms
• Check existing alarms for proper operation
• Share simple fire escape planning tips

A working smoke alarm cuts the risk of dying in a home fire nearly in half! Schedule your installation by calling 513-539-7374 ext. 1307.

We are incredibly grateful to The Home Depot Foundation for their generous donation of 100 smoke detectors, a step ladder, and a Milwaukee driver set to help us continue our free smoke detector campaign!

This donation helps strengthen our other partnership with the American Red Cross and allows us to put more working smoke detectors in the homes of City of Monroe and Lemon Township residents, helping make our community safer.

This week, members of Monroe Firefighters Local 3824 are attending Training Days in Alexandria, Virginia, while others are participating in an NFA class at the Ohio Fire Academy.

Thank you to our members for their commitment to continuing education, sharpening their skills, and bringing valuable knowledge back to better serve our community!

Today, Monroe Firefighters IAFF Local 3824 joins our brothers and sisters across the fire service in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, along with the thousands of innocent lives lost that day. We also remember those who have since passed from illnesses related to their service at Ground Zero.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to others will never be forgotten.

We remember the fallen. We honor their sacrifice. We carry on their legacy.
