Are you or someone you know at risk for a fall? Join us at the Y for an upcoming Falls Prevention Program!

Stepping On is a 7-week (one 2-hour session per week) falls prevention program conducted by trained leaders, and specially designed for adult learners. Stepping On brings together the life experience of its participants and the expertise of community professionals. From the first session, participants put new skills to use. Group members set short term goals each week – goals that focus on life activities that are most important to them. Physical therapists, pharmacists and other experts help the group adapt fall prevention practices for individual needs and levels.

Stepping On has been researched and proven to decrease falls by 31%. Fewer falls mean fewer injuries, fewer visits to the emergency room, fewer hospitalizations, and fewer deaths due to a fall.

In just seven weeks, you'll learn:
✅ To identify and remove or avoid fall hazards in your home and outside
✅ How vision, hearing, medication, and footwear affect your risk of falling
✅ Strength and balance exercises you can adapt to your individual level
✅ To get back on your feet the right way if you do fall
✅ And much more!

Stepping On will be held on Fridays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. from September 25th through November 6th at the YMCA.

Pre-registration is required. Contact the ADRC Green County Office at 608-328-9499 to register. You do not need to a member of the Y to participate in the program.

Earlier this month, over 50 young athletes hit the field for the Green County Family YMCA’s two-day Blaze Football Camp! The camp gave participants an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and have fun on the field before officially kicking off their 2026 season.

A special thank you to Coach Herbst, Monroe High School Varsity Offensive Coordinator, for leading the camp and sharing his knowledge and passion for the game with our athletes!

And what better place to learn than on the new Monroe High School football field?!

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this camp a success! We can’t wait to see these young athletes continue to grow on and off the field during the 2026 season.

Get ready for action with WatchOut's Traditional Laser Tag at the YMCA!

This isn't just laser tag—it's an active, movement-based experience designed to get kids off screens and working together. Led by WatchOut and facilitated by a local elementary PE teacher, every session emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, strategy, and plenty of heart-pumping fun in a safe, structured environment.

Players will be randomly assigned to one of our in-house teams—the Grizzlies, Pack, Pride, or Voyagers—and compete alongside their teammates in a variety of exciting game modes, including Team Elimination, Base Attack, Capture the Flag, and more. Every week brings new challenges, opportunities to improve, and plenty of friendly competition.

Players will dodge, communicate, and outsmart the competition as they battle for victory—no physical contact or projectiles required.

Laser Tag at the Y will be held on Wednesdays from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Registration begins on Monday, August 24th for Green County Family YMCA Members, and Monday, August 31st for Non-Members. Registration can be completed online or by calling the YMCA at 608-325-2003.

Help us celebrate Donna Hartwig on an amazing milestone! Over the course of 30+ years, Donna has faithfully swam laps at the Green County Family YMCA—and recently reached an incredible goal: swimming the equivalent distance from Monroe, WI, to Los Angeles, CA, and back again!

That’s an incredible 3,870 miles in the pool!

Today, YMCA staff had the honor of presenting Donna with a certificate recognizing this amazing accomplishment and raising a glass of sparkling cider to celebrate her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to her health and wellness.

Donna, your determination is truly inspiring! Thank you for being such an incredible part of the Green County Family YMCA community for more than three decades. Congratulations on 3,870 miles!
