What a busy day at Feed Berkeley today, but God answers prayer. The MCUMC leadership group was going to be very limited in heavy lifting personnel today, but we were blessed to have 5 members of the Ancient Square Lodge #174( Albert Hair, Robert Pinckney, Chris Syffus. Kelvin Kimbrough, and Eric Hamilton) along with Adrian, Larry Misita from Seacoast Cane Bay, Richard Jackson, Butch Volf, and Ralph Moore (MCUMC) volunteer to handle outside and the heavy stuff. Of course, we are always thankful for our regulars-the box packers, shelvers, clerical crew, and cleanup volunteers ( Valerie, Sue, Amaya) but today the outside crew was the bomb! Also big shoutout to Sue, Chentell, and the Gideons for handling the heat and non stop ID checks. It was a hot one and the line never stopped. Kathy Ball thanks for giving up a Saturday to help lead as well! It takes a village. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out. As part of the opening ceremony, Area Coach of Operations, Jackie Cabrera, presented Feed Berkeley, Executive Director, Elizabeth Sullivan, with a $1000 donation expressing the Panda Express commitment to give back to the community through its valuable volunteer resources. We at Feed Berkeley are grateful for this donation and look forward to a continuing relationship with Panda Express and its employees going forward. City Electric Supplies of Moncks Corner collected about 500 food drive items for Feed Berkeley recently. They were celebrating the company's 75th anniversary by collecting food items AT EVERY LOCATION across the USA. The photos they showed of all those local food drives were impressive!
Thank you City Electric Supplies for helping your neighbors everywhere.

MCUMC leadership team thanks the volunteers who helped us have a successful distribution on Saturday. In addition to our regular group, we had assistance from Crowfield Baptist, Seacoast at Cane Bay, and Pointe North churches. Thanks to Kathy, Larry, Zerlinna, Aimee, AJ, and Adrian for helping us fill in the gaps for our vacationing Methodists. Also thanks to Presley, Mattie and the young man and his mom from Freedom Church who helped on Friday. It’s always nice to see our young people volunteering for our community. We couldn’t have done it without you. A big shoutout to Nurturing Wonders and Grace Community Baptist Church for the donations to our shelves this week. They were greatly appreciated!

Feed Berkeley had one of its largest volunteer weekends this past Saturday thanks to our new leadership team including Seacoast Church Cane Bay and Crowfield Baptist Church in Goose Creek. These volunteers helped in every area from packing boxes,to breaking down cardboard, to greeting clients, and loading vehicles. They did all this with big smiles and servants hearts. We are so happy to have them join our community organization. If you or your organization is interested in volunteering with Feed Berkeley please visit our webpage.

Great day at Feed Berkeley distribution yesterday. Large number of volunteers worked diligently. Thanks especially to Seacoast church of Cane Bay who brought quite a few volunteers to “train” in operations to prepare for their leadership week on May 30. They are definitely up to the challenge, and I can’t wait to watch them in action. Great job, all!
