Great day at Feed Berkeley distribution yesterday. Large number of volunteers worked diligently. Thanks especially to Seacoast church of Cane Bay who brought quite a few volunteers to “train” in operations to prepare for their leadership week on May 30. They are definitely up to the challenge, and I can’t wait to watch them in action. Great job, all!

Feed Berkeley is open today! Come and get some fresh vegetables. We have lots of great produce- potatoes, onions,squash cabbage, watermelon,and cantaloupe, plus beautiful meat and delicious desserts. Hurry and get yours today. 9-11:30. Trident United Way building - 500 S Live Oak Moncks Corner.

Wonderful day at today’s Feed Berkeley distribution led by MCUMC. We had 35 volunteers, mostly young people, from various school and local entities including Berkeley High Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Cathedral Academy students. It was a busy but productive day providing assistance for those in our community experiencing food insecurity. We left an empty chair for friend Rick Burnette who we know was with us in spirit as we served with Grace. We will miss him in 3rd Saturdays.

A big shout out to 3 Community Health Workers from MUSC (Kalin, Sierra, and Brittany) who worked with the Feed Berkeley leaders from Pointe North this weekend and did a great job preparing Feed Berkeley for their weekly distribution. This is a fantastic way for them to reach people in need.

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) utilizes community health workers, social or workers, and clinical outreach coordinators to bridge gaps between underserved communities and healthcare systems, particularly through the Hollings Cancer Center and various health promotion programs. These professionals focus on, for example, health education, patient navigation, and, for example, reducing, for example, health disparities. Thanks to MUSC for providing these resources in the rural community.

Successful Feed Berkeley distribution this week with many volunteers including Boy Scout troop 459 kids and adult leadership as well as students fulfilling their commitments to community service from various local high schools and middle schools. The MCUMC leadership team was grateful for their help! The food we received from the many holiday food drives has now been completely exhausted and we are back to purchasing our food for distribution from LCFB so if your organization is interested in sponsoring a food drive or making a monetary donation to help offset our costs please visit the website or charitable link below.

Looking at the frigid temperatures and possibility for inclement weather this coming weekend January 31, Feed Berkeley will NOT open for our 5th Saturday food distribution. We regret any inconvenience this causes, but we are acting out of concern for the safety of our volunteers and clients. Feed Berkeley will reopen on February 7 from 9:00-11:30. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

A little late updating last weekend’s successful weekend at Feed Berkeley. A very cold morning welcomed new volunteers along with a seasoned crew from MCUMC and a steady stream of clients for a busy distribution morning. Thanks to all who participated. Remember Feed Berkeley is open every Saturday from 8:30-11:30. There will also be a 5th Saturday distribution this month on January 31.

Busy volunteer weekend at Feed Berkeley. Thanks to the BHS HOSA club, BHS Positive Peer Group, and the Jenkins family and friends, for helping make a busy distribution weekend for the MCUMC group run smoothly. Also a big shoutout to the North Berkeley Fire Department for their generous donations of essential canned goods to stock our shelves from their Bonneau Beach Santa parade (And to Mattie for unloading the truck….). Also a thank you to the Berkeley County Republican party for their food donations from their Christmas gathering. A big thank you to all our volunteers, donors, clients, and prayer partners for a successful 2025 distribution year. Feed Berkeley will reopen January 10, 2026. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! 🎄🎅🤶❤️🥰
