🗣️Introducing the amazing men of the QC Parent Mentor Program! 🎉

These incredible individuals have stepped up to serve as positive and irreplaceable role models for the students in our community. Their dedication, encouragement, and impact deserve a huge round of applause! 👏👏

🌟 Ki Mang; Jane Addams~~
Ki works full time but still shows up everyday and always goes above and beyond! Everywhere he goes he brings a smile and a willing attitude. He has been a huge help with the school garden project 🪏🪴

🌟 Michael O’Brien; Jane Addams~~
Mike graciously volunteers his time without receiving a stipend. He was a huge support during a special persons Christmas event this past year. He is very committed and always gives more than expected! 🫂

🌟 Paul Tillema; Roosevelt~~
Mr. T also volunteers without a stipend. His goal is to make every child feel seen and know that they are amazing, loved, & worthy of being here! He has a special place in the hearts of the kids by being an extraordinary role model~~ In the words of a 5th grader, “Mr. T is a chill guy.” 😎

🌟Tony Carpenter; Coordinator at Logan~~
Tony creates a positive and welcoming environment everywhere he goes! He inspires confidence in the students & makes a lasting impact on those around him 💯

🌟 Robert Hamilton; Coordinator at Glenview~~
Robert is truly dedicated and compassionate in all that he does. He consistently goes the extra mile and pours his heart into supporting both the students and the Parent Mentor Program. His willingness to serve others make him such a valued part of our community! 💓

🌟 Rolando Gonzalez; Director~~
Rolando leads with patience, kindness, and encouragement. He is tech savvy, well organized, and speaks with both heart and professionalism. He’s an important part of the Parent Mentor Program community! 👏

Extra bonus, you’ll get to spend the evening with our amazing Parent Mentor Coordinator Ms. A {aka: Tresa Andrews} who has teamed up with United Way Quad Cities and Woodrow Wilson Middle School to bring this fun evening. 🥰 🎊

We had a great time last night sharing about the Parent Mentor Program at the “Culture Fest” at Rock Island High School! 💞🌍

We loved seeing the celebration of cultures, community, and connection throughout the evening. 💪 ✌️

We’re so excited about our growing partnership with the Rock Island-Milan School District 41 this past year and we look forward to all that the future holds! 🎉 🫶

Congratulations to Rolando, our Program Director, and to Eduardo, Director of theWIU Bilingual Early Learning & Family Center 👏🎓

The QC team of Parent Mentor Coordinators had the pleasure of surprising them at their WIU graduation in Macomb this past weekend with as much excitement, celebration, and fanfare as possible!

We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and this incredible accomplishment. Congratulations, graduates! 🎉

Thank you to the amazing librarians Marta from the Moline Public Library, Moline, IL and Livvy from the East Moline Public Library for visiting our Parent Mentors on Friday and sharing a wonderful presentation about all the FREE resources our local libraries have to offer!

We encourage everyone to visit your local library and take advantage of the many programs, services, and opportunities available to our community. 📚✨

It was a perfect day yesterday to plant a garden, and the students at Washington Elementary did just that! 🪏🪴🌸🌻🌷

Thank you to our Washington Parent Mentor Coordinator Zainab for using your Moline Public Schools Foundation grant money to provide the students an enriching opportunity to learn about gardening and to add some beauty to their school! 💪 ✨

Thank you also to all the Parent Mentors and the wonderful Cindy Hanft who assisted with this school-wide project! 🙌 🙏

“Teacher Appreciation Week” was last week, and we are so grateful for the many wonderful educators in our community! 📝 📚

Here are just a ~ few ~ ways our Parent Mentors celebrated and showed their appreciation:

✔️ Each participating school received a “Teacher’s Lounge Snack Basket” put together by our Program Organizers Gaby & Sarah 👏

✔️ Jane Addams Parent Mentors planned a whole week of celebrations including homemade goodies, treat bags, and door decorations 🎉

✔️ Several Program Coordinators surprised the WIU Bilingual Early Learning & Family Center with a table of treats 😋

✔️ Plus MANY more activities not pictured! 🥰

💖 A special thank you to the schools — and especially the teachers — who have welcomed our Parent Mentors into their classrooms throughout the year. Your support, kindness, and dedication make a difference. 🌟
