💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

For me, this month is more than wearing purple. It’s personal. It’s about remembering the lives that have been lost, standing beside those who survived, and reminding those who are still living in fear that they are NOT alone.

Domestic violence doesn’t always leave bruises that people can see. It can be control, manipulation, isolation, threats, fear, financial abuse, and slowly making someone believe they aren’t strong enough to leave.

But you ARE strong enough. 💜

Through Amber’s Ride Against Violence, I will continue to speak up, raise awareness, and honor my sister Amber. Her story matters. Every survivor’s story matters. And every person still trying to find their way out matters.

This month, check on your friends. Learn the warning signs. Believe survivors. Speak up. And most importantly—remind someone that there IS life after abuse.

💜 You are worthy. You are loved. You are stronger than you think.
💜 Break the silence. End the violence.

I WROTE A FREAKING BOOK!!!!! 😭❤️

For YEARS, I’ve written pieces of my story. Pages here. Memories there. Things I needed to get out of my head and onto paper. Some of it was easy to write. Some of it absolutely broke me all over again.

And finally one day I said…

“Welp… let’s just put it all together.” 😂
And somehow… I DID.

She Refused to Stay became a book.

My book.

My story.

But the most important part of this announcement isn't even that I wrote a book.

It's WHY I finally decided my story needed to be told.

❤️ AMBER. ❤️

My sister. My reason. And a huge part of why I refused to stay silent.

Losing Amber changed my life forever.
Her story became the reason I started Amber’s Ride Against Violence—to keep her name alive, to bring awareness to domestic violence, to help victims, and to make sure that something meaningful continued in her honor.

What started as heartbreak became a mission.
And somewhere along the way, I realized that if I was asking other survivors to know that they weren't alone, maybe it was time for me to stop hiding the hardest parts of my own story, too.

So I wrote them.
The ugly parts.
The heartbreaking parts.
The parts I'm not proud of.
The parts that almost destroyed me.
And, most importantly, the parts where I got back up.

This book tells my story of surviving domestic violence, rebuilding my life, finding myself again, and eventually turning unimaginable loss into something that could help someone else.
Amber’s Ride Against Violence is part of that story.

And Amber…
THIS ONE IS FOR YOU. ❤️
Every ride.
Every person we've helped.
Every survivor who has found the courage to speak.
Every time your name has been said.
And now, every page of this book.

I wish more than anything you were here so I could hand you the first copy.

I wish I could see your face when I told you, “Sis, I wrote a freaking BOOK!” 😭😂

But I hope somehow you know.

I hope you're proud.

Because your story didn't end when we lost you.
I made damn sure of that. ❤️

What an incredible day! 💜🏍️

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported the **5th Annual Amber's Ride Against Violence**. Your presence, generosity, and support continue to make this event so special.

A huge thank you to **Main Street Saloon Akron** and their amazing staff, especially **Brook and Marlene**, for your incredible hospitality and for always making us feel like family. Thank you to the cooks for preparing an absolutely amazing meal for everyone!

We also want to thank **Zodiac Bar**, *County Line Bar & Grill**, **Towpath Cabinn**, ** sportsman**, **330 Photography Solutions**, and **SMP** for helping make this event unforgettable. SMP, you absolutely rocked the night away and gave everyone an amazing show!

Mother Nature kept us guessing all day, but she smiled on us just enough! Although the weather was questionable, every rider made it back safely before the storm rolled in. We truly couldn't have asked for a better ending to an incredible ride.

Most importantly, thank you to every rider, passenger, volunteer, supporter, and friend who continues to stand with us year after year. Because of you, Amber's Ride continues to grow and make a difference.

Here's to five incredible years of making a difference together—and many more to come.
