JUST A REMINDER THAT WE WILL BE OPEN TUESDAY EVENING JUNE 9th BETWEEN 5:30-6:30 PM!!

Evening service is provided on the 2nd Tuesday of each month as a community service of the Brimfield Club. Service is drive thru only and must be pre-ordered with our online ordering feature. Order reservations can only be placed by current patrons of our pantry. You wont be able to place an order If you are not a current member.

ONLINE ORDERING IS CURRENTLY RESTRICTED 2nd TUESDAY EVENING SERVICE ONLY. The Brimfield Community Cupboard in partnership with the Brimfield Lions provide this service as a convenience in an effort to serve you as quickly as possible. Online orders must be received no later than 7 AM on day of pick-up. NO EXCEPTIONS as orders are pulled and packed at that time. The Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank Harvest for Hunger campaign kicked off Friday February 27, and although this event is primarily about raising funds, it's also about giving thanks! During the presentation given by Dan Flowers, CEO of the Food Bank, we learned that last year was the first time in the 40 year history of the food bank that federal and state funding was cut by 20% resulting in 6 million pounds of food lost for distribution to Food Bank pantry partners like us. On top of that, SNAP benefits were lost during the last quarter of the year, and food costs spiraled, especially for meat. All of this placed an extra burden on families already struggling to make ends meet, and on local pantries attempting to handle the additional volume of families seeking food assistance. And, as a result, it was local people, foundations, and companies that came to the rescue providing donations and volunteers to help meet the ever rising need!

Locally in Brimfield, new volunteers arrived at the pantry to offer help during weekly and holiday distributions. Additionally, local individuals, social groups, and corporate donor's provided additional funding to help with the ever increasing costs of operating the pantry. We are so very thankful for all of the support provided to us and our pantry families throughout the year. We thank each of our volunteers and donors who generously provide their time and donations that keep the doors open and local families fed. Without all of this support, we could not keep the level of service we provide. THANK YOU!!!

For over 45 years, the Brimfield Community Cupboard has been helping neighboring Brimfield families with food assistance. Opened in 1979, the Brimfield Community Cupboard operated out of a small room in the basement of the Brimfield Methodist Church and now comprises over 1/2 of the church basement.

Since 2019, pantry use has increased over 80% during its normal Tuesday, Thursday and once a month evening operating hours.
The Brimfield Community Cupboard sources much of its food from the Akron Canton Region Food Bank as a Pantry Partner, however one of the hardest items to source is meat. We have been able to fill this gap as a beneficiary of the Meijer Simply Give Double Match Day program. Donations made on Double Match Days effectively are tippled. We then use these funds to purchase meat for our pantry families.

There are two Meijer Simply Give Double Match Day events during March. The 1st is Saturday, March 7th, and the second is March 21st.

If you are considering a donation to the Brimfield Community Cupboard, consider donating on one of these two Saturdays at the Brimfield Meijer store by purchasing the Brimfield Community Cupboard donation card where every dollar donated is doubled and added to the original donation.

Look for the Simply Give cards (pictured below) near the checkouts or ask a the store manager to assist you if you cannot find them. If you'd rather, you can drop your donation off at the Brimfield Hometown bank, and we will apply it for you on the Double Back Saturday.

Without donations from you and sponsors like Meijer, we could not provide the level of service we do. We thank you in advance for your kind consideration
