The loving legacy of Luna is bringing light to kids in hospital this summer during their newest mission, a toy drive! Today marks three years since the beautiful Luna gained her wings.
If you are unaware of her story, precious Luna was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma in September of 2022. What led to her diagnosis was symptoms of weakness on the left side of her body, she stopped using her left arm, her balance was disrupted, and she had a slight droop on the left side of her face, similar to Bells Palsy. Tragically, it was then that the 3 and a half year old Luna was diagnosed with the horrific DMG. She had bravely endured radiation and chemotherapy in order to put the cancer at bay but it never ceased in giving her a break. She was never able to qualify for a clinical trial, either. In April of 2023, Luna was placed on hospice care after it was found the cancer had spread quickly, and she remained in a sleeping beauty like state for 6 weeks until taking her last breath on earth on June 1st, 2023, at the age of 4💔

Remembering Florencia aka Flopi on her 9th angelversary🪽Flopi was only 4 years old when on November 3rd, 2016, she was diagnosed with DIPG. She was from Chile and she first endured radiation treatments after diagnosis. Then, she was supposed to travel to Barcelona for immunotherapy treatment but her tumor was so fast growing she was unable to make it in time. Flopi bravely fought DIPG for 7 months before gaining her wings at the age of just 4 years old, just weeks away from her 5th birthday💔

June is set aside to bring awareness to cancer survivors. Did you know, today, in the USA, there are about 500,000 survivors of ? Most are wondering if they will see another diagnosis of cancer before they reach 50 years of age. They may be dealing with late effects of the drugs and or radiation that was used to help them become a survivor. Most will admit that while a diagnosis of cancer after 5 years makes them an Official Survivor, it’s really never over.
