Gallo Center Arts Education

Gallo Center Arts Education Serving students in our community with inspiring, life changing arts education experiences.

The Gallo Center is proud to partner with Stanislaus County Office of Education to present YES (Youth Entertainment Stage) Company, which brings youth in grades 7-12 together to gain a sense of community through trust, acceptance, and celebration of their differences as they work toward a common goal. YES Company cast members are immersed in a pre-professional performance theater experience, inclu

ding students interested in technical theater and theater production, who are able to work first hand with professionals to help put on the show. The nine-week musical theater intensive offered during the summer months starts with open auditions, leading to an intense rehearsal period and culminates with seven performances over the span of two weekends in the Gallo Center for the Arts’ Mary Stuart Rogers Theater. Founded in 1992 by the Stanislaus County Office of Education under the direction of Melanee Wyatt, YES Company members have discovered new talents, abilities, and the power of positive choice. Alumni are instilled with valuable social skills including responsibility, communication, teamwork, and positive self-esteem.

🎉This weekend we’re celebrating our GCYA students as they bring GIANTS IN THE SKY to life on stage!🤩

They’ve spent the semester exploring what it means to compromise in a production, how improvisation is a great way to exercise creativity, and have been putting their music theory skills to the test. All while showing up for each other every week in class and rehearsals. 💚💙

Send some applause in the comments for our GCYA students as they take their places on stage this weekend! 👏👏👏👏

Gallo Center Youth Academy presents
⛅️GIANTS IN THE SKY☁️

This magical story explores the world of Giants who live above the clouds. Ever since they left Earth a long time ago, the Giants have made a life up above where their job is to keep the sky beautiful. They polish the stars, poke the clouds to let it rain and paint the sunsets. But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up “beanstalk“ and embarks on an adventure down below!

Music & Lyrics by Denver Casado
Book and Lyrics by Kerry Kaxmierowicztrimm
GIANTS IN THE SKY is presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press (www.bbbpress.com)

For the first time at the Gallo Center! Tickets on sale now at galloarts.org

In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she's desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home - with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf. For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney's Frozen includes all the film's beloved songs with new music written exclusively for the stage.
