Sarah’s story didn’t have to happen.

Today, we have a safe, effective, long-lasting vaccine that can prevent the HPV infections responsible for 99% of cervical cancers.

As a cervical cancer survivor, Sarah is helping ensure fewer families hear the words, “You have cancer.”

“We can make stories like mine a thing of the past.”…and she’s right💜

June is National Cancer Survivors Month 💜

This month, we honor the more than 18 million cancer survivors living in the United States and celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience they demonstrate every day.

Thanks to advances in prevention, early detection, and treatment, more people than ever are surviving and thriving after cancer.

To every survivor: your journey inspires hope and reminds us why the fight against cancer matters. 💜

Imagine a plane carrying 100 people crashing every single day for an entire year.

That’s roughly the number of HPV-related cancer cases we could prevent annually through HPV vaccination.

The HPV vaccine is cancer prevention. It protects against the virus that can cause 6 different types of cancer and has the power to save thousands of lives each year. 💜

Thank you to Dr. Linda Eckert for helping put this preventable cancer burden into perspective.

Research saves lives. Thanks to more than 20 years of research and monitoring, the HPV vaccine has been shown to be safe, effective, and long-lasting in preventing HPV infections that can lead to cancer later in life💜

Today, we’re already seeing real-world declines in HPV infections, precancers, and 6 different HPV-related cancers because of vaccination!

This National Cancer Research Month, we celebrate the science helping prevent cancer before it starts 🙏✔️

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, VAX 2 STOP CANCER also recognizes the importance of protecting the health of our communities through prevention, education, and access to lifesaving care. HPV is incredibly common — in fact, about 4 out of 5 people will get HPV at some point in their lives.

Having HPV is NOT something to be ashamed of. HPV can affect anyone, regardless of gender, race, background, or lifestyle. That’s why education, routine screenings, and HPV vaccination are so important. 💜

Let’s replace stigma with facts, prevention, and support.

Every year, around the world, nearly 350,000 women lose their lives to cervical cancer. To put that into perspective, that is 7 packed Alabama Crimson Tide stadiums full of women.

Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers that can actually be prevented—and even eliminated—with HPV vaccination, routine screening, and early detection. That’s why awareness matters. 💜

HPV causes almost 40,000 cases of cancer each year in the United States and many people don’t realize men are affected too!

HPV is linked to several cancers in men, including oropharyngeal (throat), a**l, and pe**le cancers. The HPV vaccination can prevent cancers before they ever start.

Protection starts early. HPV vaccination is recommended for BOTH boys and girls starting at age 9 💙💗

Every 2 hours, someone loses their life to cervical cancer. 💔

That’s a heartbreaking reality…especially when cervical cancer is one of the MOST preventable cancers we have the power to stop!

The HPV vaccine has the ability to prevent the virus that causes almost all (99%) cervical cancer cases before cancer begins. Awareness and action save lives!
