Men’s Health Week starts today. 💙

When people think about HPV, they often think about cervical cancer…but HPV affects men too!

HPV can cause several types of cancer in men, including oropharyngeal (throat), a**l, and pe**le cancers. HPV can also cause ge***al warts. In fact, HPV related throat cancer is the most commonly diagnosed HPV -associated cancer surpassing cervical cancer diagnoses. HPV vaccination can prevent HPV-related cancers before they start.

Follow along this week as we share more facts about HPV and men’s health!

Did you know HPV can cause 6 types of cancer…including cervical and a**l cancer?

That’s why screening matters.

A Pap smear looks for abnormal cervical cells, an HPV test looks for high-risk HPV infections, and an a**l Pap smear looks for abnormal cells in the a**l ca**l. While these tests are different, they all help identify changes that could lead to cancer if left untreated.

HPV is responsible for almost all cervical cancers and many a**l cancers, but finding abnormal cells early can help prevent cancer from developing.

Talk with your healthcare provider about which screenings may be right for you. 💜

Sarah’s story didn’t have to happen.

Today, we have a safe, effective, long-lasting vaccine that can prevent the HPV infections responsible for 99% of cervical cancers.

As a cervical cancer survivor, Sarah is helping ensure fewer families hear the words, “You have cancer.”

“We can make stories like mine a thing of the past.”…and she’s right💜

June is National Cancer Survivors Month 💜

This month, we honor the more than 18 million cancer survivors living in the United States and celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience they demonstrate every day.

Thanks to advances in prevention, early detection, and treatment, more people than ever are surviving and thriving after cancer.

To every survivor: your journey inspires hope and reminds us why the fight against cancer matters. 💜

Imagine a plane carrying 100 people crashing every single day for an entire year.

That’s roughly the number of HPV-related cancer cases we could prevent annually through HPV vaccination.

The HPV vaccine is cancer prevention. It protects against the virus that can cause 6 different types of cancer and has the power to save thousands of lives each year. 💜

Thank you to Dr. Linda Eckert for helping put this preventable cancer burden into perspective.

Research saves lives. Thanks to more than 20 years of research and monitoring, the HPV vaccine has been shown to be safe, effective, and long-lasting in preventing HPV infections that can lead to cancer later in life💜

Today, we’re already seeing real-world declines in HPV infections, precancers, and 6 different HPV-related cancers because of vaccination!

This National Cancer Research Month, we celebrate the science helping prevent cancer before it starts 🙏✔️
