Glacier National Park has been aiming to restore whitebark pine and limber pine in the park for the last 20 years. Glacier staff will share their story of 5-needle pine propagation, restoration efforts and lessons learned from monitoring. Come and learn more about these important and threatened species that are vital to the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem.

Mark those calendars! Our next "MNPS Presents" program is coming up Wednesday, November 11th!
Humans have evolved to tune in to each other, but also the sounds of our places, the voices of other animals, rhythms of seasons and weather. But today, amid the political polarization and digital distractions of our time, many of us move through our days hearing nothing but human-made sounds. Audio journalist Amy Martin has spent the last ten years pushing back against this sonic isolation, turning the microphone toward our planet-mates on her award-winning podcast, Threshold. In this talk, she'll share some of her adventures from the field and make the case that listening to the more-than-human world is more essential to our survival than ever.

Spread the word - the Citizen Botany Program is seeking a Coordinator for 2027!
The Montana Citizen Botany Program enlists volunteers to conduct native plant conservation tasks throughout the state. The program is currently seeking a Coordinator to manage volunteers and botany data, conduct research, participate in field-based group events and contribute in various ways to developing this state-wide program.
Hired through the MT Department of Agriculture, this Montana AgCorps position will work closely with MNPS and be supervised by the Montana Natural Heritage Program botanist in Helena. This position serves an early-January to late-November term and provides benefits, including a living allowance, education award (upon completion), housing stipend (if eligible), and avenues to grow marketable skills and knowledge.
