JWAS Foundation

The JWAS Foundation provides academic scholarships and leadership development programming to youth and their families in St. Joseph County, IN.

The mission of the Jaxson William Augustus Swank Foundation is to perpetuate Jaxson's loving memory by nurturing selected individuals educationally, emotionally, and socially from preschool through higher education in achieving their greatest potential while developing strong moral character as future leaders through our Trilogy of Care.

At the end of Leadership Camp, our Jaxson Scholars surprised JWAS Volunteer Extraordinaire Nancy with a royal coronation to thank her for making Camp a whole lot sweeter. ❤️

We had so much fun shopping with Rihanna, Aline, and Marilynn helping them prepare for the new school year! 📚🛍️✏️

As part of the Jaxson Scholarship, we help cover some of the costs of dorm room essentials to help create a comfortable living space that supports student success. 💙

We had a great time at the Back-to-School Health Fair at Kelly Park! 📚🎒 We loved sharing the JWAS mission and Jaxson Scholarship application with local families, and introducing South Bend Mayor James Mueller to JWAS. A big thank-you to JWAS mom Kristin for inviting us, and to JWAS moms Kristah and Maria for helping us spread the word! 💙

What a way to wrap up Leadership Camp! 🎉

Family Fun Day 2026 brought our JWAS family together for an afternoon packed with fun, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition! 💙

There was something for everyone: bounce houses, an ice cream truck, Slip ’n’ Slide, water balloon tosses, and lots of time to simply enjoy being together. 🍦💦☀️

Our Jaxson Scholars and Junior Leaders also took the stage with skits inspired by this week’s five leadership traits: Teamwork, Service, Self-Awareness, Respect, and Family. 🌱

And the excitement didn’t stop there! During our closing circle, we announced the winners of our very first JWAS Olympics… congratulations to Mickey’s Minions! 🏆👏

A huge thank you to all of our JWAS families for making Family Fun Day such a special celebration, to Navarre Catering and Events for the delicious picnic lunch, and to Michiana Christian Camp for being our host site for 2026! 💕
