🍂🚲 Bike to School Day is THIS FRIDAY, October 9! 🚲🍂

Join fellow LNCS students and caregivers for the annual LNCS Bike Bus and celebrate Fall Bike-to-School Day together!

A bike bus is exactly what it sounds like: a group of riders traveling together along a planned route, picking up more riders along the way as we head to school. It's a fun, safe, community-building way to start the school day and, honestly, way cooler than a regular bus! 😎

📍 Starting Location Agrarian Seed & Garden (52nd St & 47th Ave)

⏰ Bike Bus Schedule • 8:15 AM: Meet at Agrarian Seed & Garden
• 8:30 AM: Ride begins
• 8:35 AM: 40th Ave & 52nd St
• 8:40 AM: 35th Ave & 52nd St
• 8:45 AM: 30th Ave & 52nd St (Keewaydin riders arrive)
• 8:50 AM: 26th Ave & 52nd St
• 8:55 AM: 54th St & Shoreview Ave
• 9:00 AM: Arrive at Wenonah School

☕ Bonus: Coffee and community time for adult riders when we arrive!

⚠️ Important Reminders: • Caregivers must ride with their child.
• All riders must wear a bike helmet.
• Bring a bike lock.
• There will not be a bike bus ride home after school. Please make sure your child's end-of-day transportation plan is communicated to their teacher if it differs from normal.

Let's celebrate biking, community, and a healthy start to the school day. We hope to see lots of LNCS families out riding together on Friday morning! 🚴🍁

🚲🍂💙💛

Last evening the school board released its transformation plan, which you can find on the district’s website at https://www.mpschools.org/about-mps/school-transformation/community-school-options -panel-109278

This plan calls for the closure of 15-16 MPS schools, including Wenonah.

Minneapolis Families for Public Schools is hosting a zoom meeting on Sunday afternoon for those impacted and concerned about the plan who would like to learn more.
