VOYAC was honored the privilege to host a panel at Stand Up For Youth, spreading information on the great work that we do in the community. Thank you to everyone who joined us for breakfast. Standing up for youth is crucial for promoting justice, fostering compassion, developing courageous leaders, and cultivating a culture of kindness within society. Together we’re a stronger community.

Our chair man Clyde Quarles handled the executive planning for Beyond the Bell. He is also the Youth Congress environmental committee coordinator, and serves as Minnesota’s Afterschool Ambassador Fellow.

Beyond the Bell  was a youth centered event consisting of community building engagements, live performances, key-note addresses, and a Youth-Led panel, where youth spoke about their experience with Afterschool programs, the benefits these programs have brought to their lives and community, and the vital need to fund these programs.

As a part of his fellowship he’s leading a strategic media and community organization campaign centered around bringing awareness to Afterschool programs and their importance; Clyde will be hosting two events as apart of this campaign. Beyond the Bell & Lights on Afterschool program Showcase.

Minneapolis youth congress helped him plan the event by giving youth perspectives and experience to make sure the event centered youth and would be received well by the youth.

Youth Perspectives on Afterschool; a powerful, youth-led event designed to spotlight the voices, talents, and stories of young people who have been positively impacted by afterschool programs. This dynamic gathering will feature a panel of 6–9 youth sharing their personal experiences and speaking on the importance of accessible, high-quality afterschool opportunities for all. In addition to the panel, the event will include live music and artistic performances, a symbolic “Pass-the-Torch” keynote speech celebrating youth leadership, and community-building activities. Local organizations will also table the event, offering resources and ways to stay involved. Beyond the Bell aims to inspire action, foster connection, and celebrate the role of afterschool programs in supporting youth development, education, and civic engagement.
