“You realize very quickly people experiencing homelessness are just part of our community — just like everybody else.” 💙
When William first began volunteering as a Shelter Support volunteer at Simpson, he was looking for a meaningful community experience while pursuing a nursing degree. Nearly a year later, the experience has become much more than volunteer hours.
From helping with meals and restocking supplies to simply spending time talking with guests, William says the most memorable moments often came through everyday conversations and connecting with guests.
