October is Hygiene Need Awareness Month!

Access to basic hygiene products is essential for health, confidence and dignity. Yet many individuals and families struggle to afford everyday necessities like soap, shampoo and toothpaste.

Through our partnership with Bridge to Basics, Agate helps provide these essential products to people accessing our services.

Food is more than a meal. It's a connection to our culture, our families, and our history. 🧡

This Indigenous Peoples' Day, we're celebrating how our SEED program honors the cultures and traditions of its participants.

As Indigenous and BIPOC participants build their culinary skills, they're also learning to prepare dishes using ingredients and cooking traditions that reflect their cultures and family stories.

It's a chance to celebrate where they come from while preparing meals for guests at Agate's shelters.

A special thank you to TC Food Justice for providing locally sourced bison and wild rice to help bring these traditions into our kitchen!

Megan came to Minnesota hoping for a fresh start. When she lost her housing, she and her son faced an uncertain future.

With support from Agate's Rapid Rehousing program, Megan found a safe, affordable place to call home and a new opportunity to move forward.

"I want a backyard for my baby," Megan shared. "I've come a long way."

Stories like Megan's show the difference stable housing and the right support can make for families.

Starting today, Drop-In hours are available every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Valiance, 2810 27th Ave S.
People can access showers, laundry, hygiene supplies, lunch and more.

Mobile medical care is available on Thursdays.
