In 2010, for the first time in VLCF history, the recipient of the Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence was a Chicago Bears icon - legendary coach "Iron Mike" Ditka. "Da Coach" was presented the award for his excellence in football, as well as for his philanthropic efforts off the field.

Tonight's Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field will feature a stadium-wide tribute to Coach Ditka, following his passing earlier this month at age 86.

October 2026 Impact Update!

The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation is proud to support Hopecam. This important program allows children diagnosed with cancer to connect with their classmates and peers across Wisconsin by providing equipment and WIFI access to their families at zero cost. Since 2003, Hopecam has already helped more than 6,000 children stay connected from the comfort of their own home or hospital bed, and has also helped more than 105,000 classmates understand what their friends with cancer are experiencing.

Meet Hopecam cutie, Leo from Green Bay, WI. Leo is a preschooler who is receiving treatment at St Vincent Children's Hospital, where his family learned about Hopecam. Thanks to the generous support of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation, Hopecam sent Leo a “Get Connected” backpack filled with his very own tablet!

His mom shared, “Hopecam has helped our family feel less alone by keeping us connected and bringing comfort during our child’s treatment journey.”
