Thank you!!

A week has passed since one of the most successful Benjamin Franklin Awards Celebrations in our organization's history.

Because of the generosity of library lovers, sponsors, and community leaders, we raised over $680,000 at this year's celebration. That is $680,000 to support literacy, education, safe and welcoming spaces, vibrant community events, and so much more.

We are overwhelmed by the library love our community showed us last week. From the bottom of our hearts: Thank You!

We can't wait to see you at next year's Benjamin Franklin Awards Celebration!

Relive the fun by checking out the photos on our website: https://www.supportmpl.org/franklin/

We lost a literacy champion yesterday. The team at the MPL Foundation joins the many people celebrating the life of Dolly Parton, who found time between releasing iconic music, acting, and running the Dollywood Company to found Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

The Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five. The program has gifted over 300 million books to over 3 million children across 5 countries.

As Dolly herself said: "If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.”

Thanks for leading us like nobody else could, Dolly!

Meet MPL Foundation Board Member Bradley Kalscheur!

What is your favorite book of all time?
“Centennial” by James Michener. Then started reading his later ones.

If you could have dinner with any author, past or present, who would it be?
Tom Clancy

What is your first library memory?
Not realizing at 7 how loud a signing voice is in the library wearing headphones and listening to “Goober Peas”.

How did you first get involved with MPLF?
My mentor and former law partner, Lew Perlson, was on the board before me and got me involved.

When he isn't supporting the library or singing Goober Peas, Brad is a Partner at Michael Best & Friedrich.

Thank you for your dedicated service in support of the MPL Foundation!
