Friends of Brown Deer Park

Friends of Brown Deer Park In cooperation with Park People of Milwaukee County, the Friends of Brown Deer Park group is an important catalyst to enhance and protect Brown Deer Park.

The Friends of Brown Deer Park was launched in the Fall of 2016 to provide support and advocacy for beautiful Brown Deer Park. Brown Deer Park is the largest Milwaukee County Park that did not yet have an active Friends Group. Working in cooperation with the Park People of Milwaukee County, the Friends group is an important catalyst to enhance and protect Brown Deer Park. Brown Deer Park, and all

our parks, need community support now more than ever. Our parks are showing the signs of over twenty years of budget cuts. Staffing and facility maintenance are at an all time low. Getting involved with the Brown Deer Park Friends group will not only be of benefit to your park, it will benefit you as a person and your community as well. Friends’ Groups in other parks have proved to be invaluable resources, and people are free to provide support in a variety of ways and with full flexibility to meet their own time requirements. If you would like to donate to the Friends of Brown Deer Park, you can send your tax-deductible donation to support the important work of the Friends of Brown Deer Park. Your support of any amount will be very appreciated! Please send your check, made out to The Park People, 10300 W. Wisconsin Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226. On your check memo line please write "Friends of Brown Deer Park" . Feel free to call the Park People at 414-273-PARK or the Friends of Brown Deer Park at 414-357-7488 for more information. Thank you! For more information or to get involved, please call Jim Farmer and Rob Guilbert at 414/357-7488 or email them at [email protected].

As budgets shrink, Friends groups are playing a more active role in Milwaukee County Parks. These groups are taking on a variety of projects from trash cleanups to fundraising for small capital improvements. While over 60 parks have Friends groups, so many parks are still in need.

Become a Park People member at the $250 level, and you'll provide seed money for a new Friends group. Besides helping out a park, your membership will also help foster new relationships and build community!

Learn more about becoming a Park People member by clicking or tapping the link in the first comment.
