It's Devo Day! This week's devotional comes from Pastor Paul.

Do the Right Thing
James 4:17 - So if you know of an opportunity to do the right thing, yet you refrain from doing it, you’re guilty of sin.
What a powerful statement. It doesn’t talk about our reasons for refraining. It’s just black and white. Not doing the right thing is a choice and no matter how we try to justify it or make it appear reasonable – sin is still sin.
But there is good news. Jesus knew we would sin. He knew that there would be times that we would blow it and make wrong choices. Times that we would feel weak and powerless and we would fail. Jesus didn’t just go to the cross to wipe away our past sin but all of our sin. As a Christian, when we fail, it is a reminder to us that we still need Jesus. That our strength alone is not enough. That we need to repent and turn to Jesus.
None of us are made perfect this side of heaven. We are all sinners in need of a savior. Let your failures be the very thing that propels you into the arms of Jesus instead of away from him. His grace is more than enough to handle your sin problem and mine.

It's Devo Day! This week's devotional comes from Pastor Paul!

Footprints in the Sand
Ecclesiastes 3
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

As I was walking on the beach this morning, enjoying the warmth of the sun on my skin and the sound of the waves in my ears, a lite breeze gently blowing I was struck by all of the footprints in the sand along my walk. People prints. Paw prints and even some bird prints left their marks in the sand.
But those prints only lasted a few brief moments before the waves rolled into shore and washed them all way, leaving the sand once again smooth and unmarred.
The Bible tells us that our time here on earth is fleeting - very similar to the prints in the sand. Like a mist we are here for a moment and then gone.
What footprints are we leaving behind?
Jesus left footprints here on earth that still remain. What about us? What are we building here that will last beyond us?
