Happy Halloween! Today is the final Saturday that the museum will be open for 2026. All Trick or Treaters, young and old, come visit us today at 13 School Street from 10-2. We have plenty of candy for all visitors. We will have a table set up at the Pre-Holiday Craft Fair on November 14th at Milton High School and look forward to seeing you at our Holiday Open House on December 6th. Thank you for your continued support.

At the museum at 13 School Street, an old telephone hangs on the lobby wall. Milton’s first telephone, it was originally installed in the Irish home on East Road and supplied with service by Joel Farnsworth of Colchester, founder of the area’s first telephone company. Visit today from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM to discover its story and many others.

Main Street in Milton Village featured many businesses. Our Early Business Exhibit highlights several of them. The J.E. Wagner store is one of them. The building is now 61 Main Street and will undergo renovations soon. As the photos indicate, it was a successful business. Learn more about the early businesses today at the Historical Museum at 13 School Street. We are open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

With today's modern appliances, doing the laundry is a relatively routine task. Our Washday Exhibit has all the conveniences of the early days used to clean our clothes, such as this revolutionary washing machine. Visit our museum today at 13 School Street from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to learn more.

Thank you to everyone who attended this evening's fascinating presentation of "Archaeology of the American Revolution on Lake Champlain" given by Chris Sabick, Executive Director of the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. A link to the video by LCATV will be posted as soon as it is available.

It’s a beautiful day to get outside and explore. Whether you’re leaf peeping, apple picking, or attending a fall sporting event, make the most of it. While you’re out, visit the museum at 13 School Street between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to see our entry in the Milton Recreation & Parks Scarecrow on the Green. It was created and assembled by our talented Milton High School VT students during their Day of Service in honor of the anniversary of September 11, 2001. While you’re there, discover the museum’s fascinating stories and artifacts.
