Spirit of Alexandria Foundation Spirit of Alexandria Foundation's mission is to "Connect Children to Nature" through various nature related programs.

Children today spend more time indoors away from the natural world, leading to "Nature Deficit Disorder" as coined by Richard Louv. The Spirit of Alexandria Foundation strives to give children unique and memorable experiences in nature in hopes to create a passion for the natural world so that we will have a future generation to take care of our earth. Whether it is through Alexandria's Nature Bus

Bird's of Prey Program, Alexandria's Nature Scape at Howell Conference & Nature Center, or Alexandria's Nature Camp, children are given the chance to expand their interest in nature, share their experiences and spread our mission. Since 2006, the foundation has connected over 80,000 children to nature, by 2016, our 10th Anniversary, we hope to have made over 125,000 connections.
