Distractions happen, doubts creep in, and some days it can be hard to keep your mind on the page.

That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong! Finding a quiet spot, taking a breath, or setting aside a few minutes to read can help you give the words your attention. You don’t have to do everything at once—just give yourself the space to be present.

Words to Know: focus, stay, fear, pace — make these your study words this week! Read them aloud, write them down, and use each one in a simple sentence. You can also think about what helps you focus when reading and practice describing it with these words.

Have you noticed something that feels a little easier today than it did a few weeks ago?

Maybe you recognize a word more quickly, understand a sentence with less effort, or feel more comfortable reading aloud. Those moments are worth celebrating! Improvement can happen so gradually that we overlook it, but taking time to recognize your progress can remind you just how much your effort matters.
