A memory from 2016: "The moment Chompuu and one of our precious students returned from the doctor, entered the office and said, "We need to talk." Chompuu's face said it all, but she went ahead and slowly explained the illness that had appeared in the students' blood-work. Internally, my heart sunk at another boys' diagnosis (fourth student in two years). He started crying; put his hair in his face and wept. This one, who had been clean from prostitution and drugs for over a year, now faced this battle. We all three cried and then we reminded him... of his deep, incredible worth; of our commitment to be there; and that we believe in a God that not just saves, but heals. He was afraid no one would want to touch him anymore and when we immediately put our hands on his shoulders, he finally risked looking us in the eyes. That look hasn't left me...
The shock, the despair... we need to be there for them. Today, he walks in with a smile on his face! His viral load improves each visit. He's dreaming about his future again." ..........
NOW IN 2026- this student is healthy, strong, and launched in a successful career. He keeps in touch; he knows he's loved and when he meets others who needs help, he isn't afraid to share his story, encourage them and often connects them to DtonNaam.
