Joyful Voices is a community chorus for people living with memory loss and their caregivers.

In-person rehearsals will resume on Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30 AM in the Salisbury Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall (Midlothian, VA) on January 6, 2022. To join us, email Artistic Director Joanne Sherman at [email protected]

Halloween fun at Joyful Voices Chorus! Our singers got into the Halloween spirit today with a wonderful variety of creative costumes! We also had a great time dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller," adding some spooky fun and movement to our morning!

Thank you to Betty Williams and Melissa Phillips for providing the cute Halloween treats that made our spooky celebration extra special!

It was a colorful Thursday morning at Joyful Voices Chorus! Our singers dressed in rainbow colors to celebrate National Color Day, bringing plenty of color and cheer to rehearsal!

We also enjoyed a special visit from the children of Salisbury Presbyterian Preschool, who stopped by to sing for us. It was such a joy to see their smiling faces and hear their voices!

Today Joyful Voices gathered for another joyful morning of singing, connection, and fun! We added some Move & Groove to our rehearsal with Elvis Presley’s “Don’t Be Cruel,” bringing smiles, movement, and plenty of energy to the room.

Today we celebrated Bluebird of Happiness Day by wearing blue and bringing a little extra happiness into our morning! The bluebird has long been a symbol of joy, hope, and happiness, something we love to celebrate through music and our time together.

It’s world Alzheimer’s Day

Every September 21, for World Alzheimer’s Day 🌎, people around the world raise their voices together for the more than 55 million people living with Alzheimer's and other dementia and their loved ones.

Collective action. Meaningful impact. Every action counts—participate in a fundraising event, volunteer, share the facts about Alzheimer's, build brain-healthy habits or make a gift while it can have 2X the impact.

We had wonderful morning with Joyful Voices Chorus!

We celebrated Constitution Day and Citizenship Day by wearing our red, white, and blue, then moved and grooved to “Land of 1000 Dances” after rehearsing our fall concert songs.

At Joyful Voices, music brings us together, creates connection, and reminds us of the joy that can be found in singing together.

Another fun morning together at Joyful Voices Chorus!

We’re busy learning and practicing our new songs as we look ahead to our Fall Concert on November 19th. It’s always wonderful to see everyone coming together, making music, and enjoying time with one another. We also had fun dancing and singing along to “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire! Thank you to Gayle Haglund and Melissa Phillips for providing snacks today.

We’re looking forward to sharing what we’ve been working on this fall!
