Congrats to our Silver Swans who just completed their first 5-week beginner ballet course!

Participants have reported feeling their muscles in a new way, increasing their balance and coordination, and gaining mobility in areas of the body that were becoming stiff. They learned a bit of dance history and developed their musicality along the way. We also saw new friendships blossom as the dancers chatted before and after class.

They enjoyed it so much that we’re adding a second session beginning Tuesday, November 3. This four-week course includes a week off for Thanksgiving and ends the final week of our fall semester on December 1.

Travels in Cuba: Adventures in a Country in the Crosshairs

☀️In summer 2025, three good friends signed up for a winter-break, warm-weather trip to Cuba with Road Scholar, scheduled for February 2026. The trip proved more than we expected as we encountered a country in crisis due to the US-imposed oil embargo. Yet Cuba was spectacular in terms of beauty, the warmth of the people, and exposure to a culture and society we knew little about. The contours of legal travel to Cuba meant that our program focused on meaningful interaction with private entrepreneurs, private farms, and non-governmental cultural and social projects. Much to discuss!
