When someone we love is affected by drug or alcohol useโ€”or a substance use disorderโ€”it can be hard to know where to start.

Thatโ€™s why the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs created and launched the Family Learning Series, now available as a free set of short videos to help family members, loved ones, and friends find their footing and move forward. The series covers what to expect, how to set healthy boundaries, how to support children, and where to find help across Pennsylvania.

Learn what to expect, explore treatment and support options, and find ways to be present and supportive throughout the recovery process by clicking the link in the comments.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day and September is Su***de Prevention Month. Please take a moment with us to remember the many lives that have been lost to su***de.

Even the smallest gesture of support, understanding, and empathy can change someone's outlook on life. No one should ever feel like they have to face their mental health struggles alone.

If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or experiencing suicidal thoughts, help is available 24/7. Dial 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and speak with trained counselors who are ready to listen and provide support.

Penn State students: You also have access to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) right on campus. CAPS provides confidential counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health support. Learn more and connect here: https://studentaffairs.psu.edu/counseling

Let this serve as a reminder to always be kind. Hope and healing are always possible ๐Ÿ’œ
