A strong fellowship is shaped not only by the experience itself, but by the people who move through it together.

As a Peer Facilitator, Elijah helped create space for connection, reflection, and shared learning throughout the journey. We’re so grateful for the care and perspective he brought to our fellows and community.

The 2025 admissions cycle reminded us that college access isn't just about getting into college—it's about navigating uncertainty.

As policies shifted, financial aid timelines changed, and families faced important decisions with less clarity, students needed more than information. They needed the ability to evaluate their options, understand tradeoffs, and make confident decisions about their future.

That's why we believe college readiness extends beyond applications. Building strategy, financial literacy, and decision-making skills helps students navigate a process that continues to evolve.

The Class of 2025 shows what's possible when preparation is paired with the right support. Their outcomes are a reflection of thoughtful planning, persistence, and a commitment to making informed choices every step of the way.

Every fellowship is shaped not only by where we go, but by the local people we meet along the way.

A heartfelt thank you to Rachid, Mohamed, and Anass for welcoming our Fellows with the most incredible hospitality and guiding us throughout Morocco.

The connections built throughout this journey are an important part of what makes each fellowship meaningful, and we’re so grateful to have shared this experience together. You were more than just a hosts, a translator, or a driver; you became family.

Thank you for being part of our story. 🤍

You are not expected to begin the college admissions process already knowing how to write a standout personal statement, request a strong recommendation letter, prepare for an interview, or navigate financial aid.

These are skills you build—and knowing where to find the right support can keep one unanswered question from becoming a missed deadline or opportunity.

Access Online gives students courses, coaching, and planning resources to help them approach each step with greater clarity and confidence throughout the 120-day lock-in period.

Behind every meaningful experience are the people who help preserve it.

Rita's photographs captured the moments that made this fellowship memorable—from shared experiences to the connections built along the way. Her work allows these stories to live on and helps others see the fellowship through a thoughtful lens.

We're grateful for the care, creativity, and perspective she brought to documenting this journey.

Thank you, Rita, for helping tell this story. 💙

College access begins long before a student receives an acceptance letter.

It starts with guidance, encouragement, and the confidence to believe that more is possible.

Since 2014, Nyah Project has worked to expand access to higher education, leadership development, mentorship, and transformative global experiences for underrepresented students.

Over the years, we have grown into a community of students, alumni, educators, mentors, partners, and supporters united by a shared belief: access changes lives.

Access opens doors. It creates clarity and confidence. And it gives students the support they need to imagine new possibilities and create new realities.

A college application strategy only works when students know what to do next—and have a system that helps them stay consistent.

Our College Application Strategy template on Asana brings the entire 2026–2027 admissions cycle into one organized space, including school-specific requirements, financial aid, essays, recommendations, interviews, and enrollment decisions.

Instead of reacting to deadlines, students can plan ahead, track their progress, and stay accountable throughout the 120-day lock-in period.

One of the most powerful lessons from the Global Youth Leadership Fellowship in Morocco was recognizing that leadership does not always look the same.

Aleshia reflects on how the experience helped her better understand her own leadership style. Not through being the loudest voice in the room, but through creating space for others, guiding with empathy, and helping people feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

Throughout the fellowship, leadership revealed itself in many forms: through listening, encouragement, humor, vulnerability, and connection.

Sometimes leadership is not about taking control. Sometimes it’s about helping others feel seen.

The fall of senior year brings multiple responsibilities at once: building a college list, preparing essays, requesting recommendations, tracking deadlines, understanding financial aid, and so much more.

Without a strategy connecting those responsibilities, it can be difficult to know what deserves attention first. The 120 day lock-in period offers students an opportunity to approach the process with greater clarity and intention, one decision, deadline, and skill at a time.
